Title: Samuari Old Man Emu vs Calmini
Post by: GusHigh on June 28, 2021, 04:36:16 AM
Hi.

I’ve been doing some online research and found the Calmini 3” spring lift kit (sold as a complete package) for Samurais

I’ve also seen on YouTube that there was at one time a complete 1.5” spring/shock lift kit from Old Man Emu but I can’t seem to find it - I’m just seeing individual components from OME.

My goal is just to improve the ride (am much a the ride on a Sammy can be improved) and have enough clearance to run 225 or 235 tires.   I’m not planning to do tougher off-roading than anyone would consider doing with a stock Sammy - I just want the best ride possible for the 80km drive from my house to the hunt camp.

I’m leaning toward the modest 1.5”  lift from the Old Man springs but if anyone has any head to head experience with the 3” calmini kit and thinks I should go that route please let me know.

Thanks.

Just a personal observation - I've done business with both of them - with Calmini directly, and after email consultation with ARB USA, bought Old Man Emu from Low Range Off Road.  If I had to make the choice that you're considering, I'd be calling the guys at Low Range Off Road, and having them recommend which OME parts will do the job.
