Just when I thought I was gone, I get dragged back in. I was content, then a few months ago I found the 97 four-door 5-speed I need it for my bush buggy. It's a work in progress. Yesterday I put a deposit on an 03 tracker V6 to be my commuter car for winter. Didn't even see it yet, it's 3 hours away so I'll just put a deposit on it. Not the stupidest move I've ever done, I don't think haha. For those who don't know me, about 18 years ago I joined this forum when I had a 93 sunrunner on 33 inch mud tires, and I own quite a few of them since. As I was getting older I was looking for more performance and luxury and this off-road ability, but here I am.
I have never driven a v6, what are they like? Other than having twice the horsepower of my old 8 valve? I don't know what tires are on it, but I'm going to need some beefier mud or snow tires for winter and I commute 600 to 900 miles a week, how big can you get on the highway before fuel economy really suffers? That's all I want for this one, maybe some lower engine RPM if it can take it and if I could get a little better mileage that would be great

Not sure about the v6, but the 4 cyl has plenty of power for running around on back roads. Are you running an auto or did you get a rare manual?

It's a manual. With 165 horses it should boogie. I just don't know the torque curve. Most of the commute is at 75mpg, the last half is 70.

Not manual, auto!!
