Title: Pro Comp 2.5" lift
Post by: speedytang on December 29, 2003, 09:25:04 AM
Went to the web site and they do not have the lift posted or I just could not find it. Does Pro still make the lift and does anyone have the part number recorded. Thanks

ya i e-mailed Zig about them back when i first found this forum. (wow, i had no idea what i got myself into)  he said that on his kick(Canadian ) the install sucked, you will loose ground clearance under the front end and it rode "like a log wagon".  he highly recommended i go with a calmini kit.   lata stu

I also believe that they are no longer produced. If you do decide to try and get one some of the larger parts places may have one left over in inventory, but it will be hard to find. Also check to see if your Kick was made in Canada. There is a difference in the cross member of the frame (where the control are mounts) that makes the Kit not fit properly. Even after addressing that problem the Kit rode Very rough on my ride. I would also recomend that you check out Calmini's Lifts. I have both of their Kits on my vehicles and they perform great.

??? Wonder if parts from both kits could be combined for a even taller lift? Like the cross members from the ProComp kit and the control arms from Calmini? Which would leave the spring issue to be worked out.

The bigest obsticle would be drive line angles. Mainly relocating your front diff low enough to let you CV's work with out over extending.

OME?  (Old Man Emu)
Rocky Road sells them.

On a side note, if you do want a Pro Comp lift there is a guy here in Ottawa, Ontario that had one for sale.  Iwas going to buy it but he never pulled the remainder of it off the truck and I lost interest.  If you want it I can get you in touch with him.

Zig: Have you ever determine the full droop and full turn angles to which over extends the cv's? Could this be determined by static conditions?

I just liked the ProComp system for modifing and using the kit for the basic system. With 32" tires I will get the ground clearance back and I have shafts that I can extend the length and strength and have them balanced locally. I really figured all the Trackers came from the same Assy. Plant. I checked my door and mine says Canada.

I havent done this, but I did try to stretch it a little bit, by inverting my stock strut mount along with the drop bracket that comes with the 3" Kit, and that ended up trashing many CV's.

I believe that you could remove your spring bolt everything together without the spring and get a good measurment.

The BDS kit is nothing but springs and shocks and struts.
HAs anyone installed the Rusco body lift kit. If you have can you scan the directions so I can see what is involved.

National Spring makes custom springs. You have to contact them and they will email you a list of information they need, then they custom make the springs for your truck. I dont remember how to get in touch with them but they advertise in most magazines.
