In looking for brake drums and shoes for my 83. Are they different over the years or will all of the samurai years fit?
I'm also looking for an aftermarket steering damper

They are different and the 'samurai' brakes won't fit. You may be better off sourcing Samurai axles and swapping those in. Bigger parts and a little wider stance. The spring pad location is the only issue.

Crap. I was told that they would prior to seeing your response. I ordered a set of drums and shoe from suzukipartsusa. I sourced a Monroe steering damper that does look like it will work. I will list the part number if it works for others to reference

For future questions of this nature, go to megazip.net and use their parts search facility, you can enter your vehicle chassis number or navigate you way through the pages to find what you want.
If the part numbers match, they will interchange, if they are different, they may or may not.

Okay thank you for the info I will defiantly do that. On another note the Monroe steering damper fits pretty well and the vehicle driving difference is like night and day.

So the drums do not fit as you stated and the shoes while they look the same do not have the elongated holes on the bottom for the bottom springs. I may be able to drill a hole but don't really want to. I found a local guy who will turn the drums for me now I just need to email megazip and see if they have parts. There seem to be alot of variations of the sj410 on there. I might tryand see if I can research their database by chassis number

You can also take a look at Partsouq.com - I find megazip easier to search, but partsouq will generally have better pricing.

Awesome. Thank you for the resource I will take a look. The shoes were listed as for the vehicle . Got them from Suzukiparts USA. But they do t have the lower openings to accept the bottom springs off the tensioner. Other wise they look identical
