Went out wheeling today at a mud flat, didn't have anybody to go with so I went by myself. There are always people there wheeling so getting stranded without help I'm sure doesn't happen. Well I thought I could make it through a mud pit, it didn't look that deep, but I was wrong my tracker sunk like a stone when I got out to see how bad it was I sank up to my knees. Well another wheeler came to my rescue, and luckily he had a tow stap too because the idiot that I am I haven't bought one yet. Anyway I got out without any problem thanks to the kindness of others.
So the moral is have some of your own recovery equipment with you. Most of you experienced wheelers already know this, but I guess it's a stupid lesson I had to learn the hard way. :-[

You can save yourself alot of embarassment if you pick up a couple of shackles, long strap or 2 and a high lift. If you can't jack yourself out you can always use it as a winch to pull yourself out. Everybody has there bad moments.

Ive been there too. :-[ Thank god for cell phones.
I think it went something like this...
"Dad, you wont belive where Im at right now... Yes I know its 1am."

Atleast you had a cell phone :), I had to use the CB to have some one else call my dad :-[ I got stuck in the snow in his work rig with no shovel, no phone, no nothing... oh it was march too so go figure. he was not impressed and he ultra excited when we figured out that i had burned out the power steering pump trying to get out. 15 mile trip home with no power steering. Cost me $300 bucks to fix :( but live and learn i guess later

oh another good thing to have is a camera so you can have a visual aid when you tell you biggest stuck story to your wheelin buddies
