Hi eric and everyone ...
I see a lots of topics that keep comming back over and over because either people dont search or people are to lazy to search ..
how about we make some STIKY TOPICS with some F.A.Q's about stuff like wheels size , tires size on stock ... , lifts questions ... you get the idea ??
Id love to help if your willing to do this and im sure it would help people find things faster and have less topics coming back every so often :)
just my 2 cent ...
( sorry for my english :-[ )

Thats an Uber idea (pun!)  ;D
Ya a sticky with some facts about lifting your zook would be awesome for newcomers. It will also, like Uber mentioned, eliminate the same questions popping up over and over agin.

We could always flame those who don't search.

You know, every time a subject comes up new information and/or ideas come out.
Eric already has it posted in his one sticky that you should check the archives before posting. Plus there would be a lot of sticky notes at the top of the forum.
Also what is "BBS"? That's where Eric says to look.

I do have another sujestion.
On other boards when you open a topic, it will mark the "new" part of the discusion that you haven't read.
Kinda like how the topics are now.
Just would make it easyer to find where you have left off.
-
What about just setting up a separate forum of sticky topics/tech stuff that comes up repeatedly to refer people to. That way this board doesn't get 8 thousand sticky topics but we still have a good reference section to look at and send people to first?

I know Eric said he already looked into it, but I think the best thing this community could possily get its hands on is an IRC chat room.
Chat rooms are as handy as hell when it comes to getting info fast. Plus it allows you to get to know the other members in the cummunity better than the message board can provide. Its second to talkin on the phone.

a faq would definately be helpful, it would decrease members signing up just to ask one question and never coming back. but yes, it would be good. You might even keep it open all the time so members can add their opinions and experiences to it.

WELL, WHEN SOMEONE NEW STARTS A NEW TOPIC ON AN OLD SUBJECT YOU GET TO KNOW A NEW MEMBER & WHAT HE OR SHE'S DRIVING AND WHERE HE OR SHE WANTS TO GO WITH THERE ZUKE WHICH YOU MAY NEVER HEAR FROM IF THEY JUST READ ALL OLD TOPICS..AND NEVER FIND THE NEED TO CHIME IN CAUSE THEY FOUND ALL THERE ANSWERS ALLREADY :-/ I FOR ONE LIKE THIS PLACE LIKE IT IS.....BUT I DON'T KNOW OF MANY OTHER BOARDS AND THERE FEATURES SO I SUPPOSE I COULD BE MISSING SOMETHING :-/ MATTY D.

Adding a manditory info section might help to
find out more about new members, at least-
First Name
Country/state
vehicle and year
where they want to take it in mods.

so if yall intrested for a chat room on IRC im willing to take care of it ...
-
ya man. if your willing, hook it up! ;D
-
well they chaged a few rules on undernet :\ u gotta have a stedy channel before u can register and protect it from idiotic kids steeling it lol ...

You could have a forum where all reacent posts you have not seen are mentioned. They have one at jeepkings.ca, its pretty good if you check back frequently. It usually tells me I have 432 new posts I didnt read, but good for checking replies to multiple posts

A good friend of mine used to be an IRCOp on Undernet, he might still be haven't talked to him about it lately. I haven't had anything to do with IRC for a couple years. Not like much has changed other than rules anyway. If he is an IRCOpor still knows someone that is he might be able to pull some strings. Was kinda handy when someone would steal my nick and be a dickhead about it and they'd mysteriously get K or G lined. ;)
