we had a good wrench sesion and I got a quick school on kicktracks, now I can at least know what some of you are talking about. We'll be doing this again so watch for good things to come. like some new axle mods a couple brace kits and even some more tube work. ;D

Slick,   I like it.

Wild Doors, OR Wild's Doors...   ???    I'm confused...

Anyway, Welcome to the dark side of the Family, Where EFI, Powersteering, and 5.13:1's are the norm.

Kick tube doors would rock. I was thinking of running doorless on my rig once I get it done... of course if tube doors for the kick were in production... hey, hey, hey ;D ;D

"ArmStong" for those luckie few. I guess I should be happy I got luckie and got the 16valve and ps on my first venture into ZUKISM ;D
BUt I think that if you run without doors you should have something to keep your body in incase of the unforeseen.

Hey guys had a good day after the newyears hangover wore off :P I got Wild's doors about done and have a few pics I need to get uploaded just no time to do it on dial up. you'll have to wait till I get in the offfice monday. you think I should paint the drive one RED?   ;D

We were talking about easy remove doors a while back and while we were at it wild and I came up with a couple easy solutions. I;ll post some pics later but here is the short version. the stock Kicktrack hinge uses a 8mm pin. that is for all intents the same as 5/16" you can get several pins at home depot or your local hardware store that will slide right in. The best would be a cotterless hitch pin. then a cotter hitch pin with a spring clipat least 2". All you do is take your door off remove the circlip and drive out the stock pin then put the new pin in and re bolt your door. It takes 2 people but you can remove the pins without unbolting the door and go doorless. Pics to come ;D

Thanks
Wayne

I just noticed, Did you have to take the fenders off to get the hinges off?

You do have to take the fenders off to get the hinges off the body, at least.

Hi all  :)  I'm back from Ocotillo Wells, met up with
PPLTRAK and his dad, they were both driving some
nicely modified kicks, Calmini 3" suspension lifts and
swampers for traction, looking good you guys.

Well for the tube doors, we removed the fenders
so we could get in there and get the hinge pins
out and unbolt the doors, but once the initial instal
is made, and the pins are swapped to the easy pull
hitch pins, the door swap will be much easier, and
fender removal would be optional, tho not as easy
as a Sammy with external pins and hinges.

It might still be a 2 man operation to put the
stock doors back on

Wild doors or Wild's doors, both apply  ;)

Yes we did but wild can take off his fenders in about 30 seconds (like velcro pants ???) so it made it easier. you don't have to but it is way easier if you do.

Thanks

Ok so left to right here are an asortment of pins we tried for removable Kick doors.
1/4 " cotterless hitch pin. too small but the prefect pin if you can find one in 5/16"
3/8" cotterless hitch pin. I thunk I could take out the bushings in the hinge and try this pin but no go. get one that is 5/16"
5/16 uiniversal clevis pin with a spring hitch pin to keep it in place. Thins will work but is hard to get in and out due to the lack of a grab ring. also the top one has to go from the bottom up due to clearance. This is why the spring pin.
5/16" spring clip pin. Again a great pin easy as any of them to get in and out but the spring clip gets in the way of the door if you install it from the outside, or the rubber seal if you install it from the inside, which is easier anyway. It could be modified with a BFH to clear but the cotterless hitch is prefect. Im' looking for a bulk supplier now.

Hope this helps

Fortunately, those brain dead error messages that IE supply aren't visiable in Firefox.

No little red 'X's for me!

Yup, in Firefox.. it just completely ignores the fact that there may have been an image there... so there's nothing at all..

Glad that Firefox doesn't pollute my pages with images I can't even see to begin with.
