Title: bandit86 how are the gears?
Post by: cj on December 14, 2003, 12:07:54 PM
Just wondering how your friend is going with the t-case gears and has he also looked at the R&P's? Any ideas on pricing or availibility yet? I need to do something soon.

he's still working on the gears, had to put in on the back burner to get a better paying deal done.  He can do higher r&p, but he said the pinion would be so small he's afraid that it wont be able to take decent power.

re R&P, thats just by word, he has not actually seen one, I'll try to get one to him, see if he can improve on it.  My cashflow is not good, Our whole family working for the same company got laid off when the company was sold. So, if anyone in London Ontario are generous enough to lend me a set, I would appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about the job situation, hope it all works out for you. I agree pinion strength is a concern, even if it's no more than 5.83, a better price would be great. Is he still looking at a 3.5:1 low ratio?

were aiming between 3.2 and 3.5, also a lower 2 high, but that will upset my low selling price expectations. we were aiming for 450 to 500 us for 3.5 to 1 low

Don't worry about the lower high range gears,
lower ring and pinions take care of that, just
get the low range set done, I want a 3.?:1
set.  ;)

Yeah, go more to the 3.5 as I want to put them into an auto and it will help downhills. The way the high ratio is setup you need the R & P's to alter it.
