You can check the heep catalouges for all of the steel speaker stuff and if your face plate does not come off you can put a marine cover on it from a boat shop that will make it some what water and mud proof, tha amp will fit inside the tail gate if it is not too big of one, my front speakers are in the stock location in the front kick pannels but if you run them hard you will need to put sound deadner behind them!

Steelhorse makes some heavy duty lockable center consoles and overhead consoles that have provisions for head units.  I have a Sony detachable face unit in my Sammy so I just take the face off when I leave the vehicle.  There are also some units out there (Audiovox makes one) that are a completely removable head unit.
The only question I have for you is why do you want a high quality sound system in your Sami?? Sammy's are so noisy to begin with that you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a high end head unit, and a cheaper one. IMHO, good quality sound in a Sami would be a waste of $$.

Buy two of these stickers off Ebay and put them on the windows

well as far as hearing the system, i currently have a punch 100 and 2 10's, im planning on running the two front mids off the head unit. my major concern is that it looks like the soft top just unsnaps so someone could get in real easy. i was thinking that i would just bolt everything tightly for theft and rollovers hehehe.

putting a blanket over it is about all u can do if u bolt the top the will just use a knife or a screw driver to punture the top so in the long run it would be better to have them unsnap the top atleased u wont have to buy a new one
u can bolt the subs to the frame and drill out the screw heads holding the sub in so much so that u will have to drill the whole screw out to get the sub out and as for the fronts if they dont see the sub they will walk right by and never even notice u had a system just TURN IT DOWN B4 U GET THERE i turn mine down about a block mabey 2 b4 i get where im going so no one traviling around me happens by my car and knows i had a system

Boy I'm looking at old posts....
As someone who has had a stereo system stolen, I'd strongly suggest a car alarm with a motion sensor and shock sensor. Plus if you install a starter kill you might get a discount on your insurance as well.
Good Luck! Joe

years ago there was a retracting holder, fits in dash,
when you turn off the car (trucklet) the radio slides
down (might have been manual) and a blank cover
takes it's place, now it looks like no radio installed.
