Hello All,
Was wondering if there is any demand for turbo kit for the 2.0L Vitara.  I made a manifold for my Aerio (same engine as the Vitara).

Let me know what you think.
Thanks,

Hello Philip,
Welcome to the board. I think there is a market for this. I have a 1.8L in a SJ410 that I'd like to turbo. Just ticking off some ideas... there's 2.0 swaps into Kicks, the 2.0 Vitaras, 2.0 Aerio, the 1.8 Sports, 1.8 esteems, and [I've heard] the new 2.3 has the same head.
What Turbo is this setup for?
When can we see a full setup on a car?

Here is the manifold installed on my Aerio. Problem is the turbo I spec'd T3 is too big to fit between the engine and front radiator support. Plus I need to modify the manifold after initial fit on the Aerio. But for the Vitara I think the manifold would work as is.

If someone can take pictures of their Vitara's engine compartment and mail them to info|removethispart|@rotational-dynamics.com I could compare layouts.
Thanks,
Philip

My next project are an 1999 4 doors tracker/vitara with the I4 2L 16v twin cam, and i want 33" tires. A turbo setup look like an good idea for more power on the road...and trail too!

I could custom build turbo engines, but it would be
about $3500 per copy, that would be offroad use only
( ya right ) and exchanged core engine, plus shipping,
Man, does this get expensive, could do just the head
but the bottom end needs to be in good shape, and
hooking up all the lines.......... it's a chore.
This is not for the beginner, it's quite an involved project,
I almost srcapped the idea when I started looking at all
the fabrication, glad I didn't tho.
;D
