Title: the RRO "deluxe SPOA 5" lift"
Post by: AMCKB on May 09, 2005, 05:43:56 AM
I plan on ordering the RRO "deluxe SPOA 5" lift" along with the ott steering upgrade, Doetsch Tech 3000 shocks, and driveshaft extensions. I was thinking of adding 1 add-a-leaf to each side also. What do yall think am I going the right way on this? How big of ds extensions am I going to need? OKAY LET ME HAVE IT!!!

I forgot to add its a 1987 Samurai!

Don't hold your breath waiting for it to get to you......RR is known for wasting lot's of time getting stuff out the door.

I won't even start on my experience with them.....it was AWFUL!!!!!!

Why not add a little longer shackle instead of adding a leaf? It will ride better and will be easier too.....

I have the same lift with the 1" lift shackles and it is a pretty good setup....6" of lift overall......fits 31's perfectly.....I even had 33's stuffed on it for a while....but they were too heavy and robbed too much power. Had to do fender tweaking to fit the 33's too...

I had a luke warm experience with RRO also, but they do come thru in the end.  My front Bull Bar is solid and looks good in a classic sense. It was easy to install, and is plenty tough.

Im thinking about the Calmini 5.5" shackle reverse kit to replace my spoa though.  My lift was done by a rebuilder that i bought trogdor from,  and he didnt do such a hot job.  WIth spoa and stock springs theres almost no flex in the suspension, and on road ride quality is high and wiggly. I'de love to get back to a spring under axel with better leaf springs.

Okay after doing alittle more research and asking the same question on some other sites I've came up w/ alittle more to it (i think its called the4wd bug)

rr 5"spoa
rr ott steering
rr dt prerunner shocks
north coast off-road R.U.F./CJ springs
north coast off-road A.R.S./ CJ springs
TT front missing link kit
TT rear missing link kit
TT 2" extended Slip yoke

Anyone see any flaws with this other then the cost?
