Title: Are 4dr rear axles stronger than 2dr???

Just wondering, trying to gain loads of info.  I thought that I saw that the 4dr rearends were stronger than 2dr rearends???  Are they???  I know that they have bigger brakes, didnt know if that was all id gain.

I "transplant" my 4 doors rear diff to my 2 doors trackers and this is why:

4 doors rear diff = 12 bolts, 2 doors rear diff = 10 bolts

And the 4 doors housing have bigger drum breaks.

I believe that the (94-97) Kicks are also 12 bolt. But have the smaller drums.

I'll have to climb under mine this evening and check if I have the 12 bolt......Mine is a 2 door...that would be nice

12 bolts holding the ring gear on the carrier vs. 10 bolts. Housings are the same...
