Title: brake question....
Post by: Chief on July 06, 2005, 11:12:43 AM
OK, I can now get a good brake....but only after pumping the pedal, and then it only stays for 1 stop, then almost back to the floor (All front brakes).

When I turn the truck off, and pump the pedal, it will stay high after a couple pumps, doiesn't bleed off, so I think this means the brake booster is ok.

What else to check??

Replace your rear brake shoes,
At least check the adjustment

This sounds like what's happening to us. Except, it's all rear brakes until you pump it, then you get the front too.

What all modifications have you done? I'm sorry, I might have missed the posts.

We've replaced the booster and the M/C twice. I don't think it's those. We've also completely removed the ABS block in the front, that sat next to the M/C.

I'm thinking the next thing is to replace the front pads, but I'm also thinking we need to come up with a different M/C. As in my other posts, DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BORE of the SIDEKICK M/C? I've heard that some subaru M/C's, as well as some Toyota ones will work.

Anyway..

I hope we can both come up with fixes!

:)

so THAT"S what it is!!!!! (http://www.rrorc.com/gallery/data/500/8brake_metering_block-med.jpg)

Sh*T! I have ABS?!?! I'm pullin that stupoid plug tomorrow, see what happens! I bet that's why it's a fawked up, lift + bigger tires has the ABS freakin out.....

I'm REALLLLLLLLLLLLLY contemplating removing ALL the lines, and run a line to the fronts, and one to the backs, and a proportioning valve to the rear/w discs.... >:(
