Title: walmart wranglers
Post by: AZKick on May 06, 2005, 03:24:46 PM
Hi, great forum here. Lots of info. My question, does anyone know anything about the Goodyear Wranglers that Walmart sells for $50? Just bought 4 of um and have not put them on the Sidekick yet. 235/75 R15

A few days ago I asked the question "largest tire size for stock sidekick?"  The tires you are asking about caused me to ask this question.  I got lots of good tips from other users here.  A guy at the parts store also told me of a easy way to get a nice even roll of the back flair.  With the new tires on, use a baseball bat to pry up the flair while rolling it against the tire and the fender.  I wont get the tires for a few months,  but I have been thinking.....
Jeff
these tires are 215 75r 15's

I forgot all about the baseball bat trick. I used to have a lowrider Datson (hated it, but it was free) that I did that to. Works good. Waiting for a RRO 2.5 lift (Should be here in a week or so, so they said) so I shouldn't have a problem with that. Really looking forward to getting it all done. The desert awaits.

I heard that in the near future that the goodyear mtr's are going to be made out of kevlar instead of steel because of china and the steel prices.  cool bullet proof.

Wal-Mart Wranglers, sure I'm wearin' a pair right now.  Oh, you weren't talking about the jeans ;D  Anyhow, I'm not sure if the tires you get at WallyWorld are the same as the regular Goodyears, they may just buy a big lot of them and sell at "Falling Prices" But they're surely not MTR's, probably like RTS's or something.

I think the WalMart Wranglers could be more like this and not the MTRs, Even though I've seen them carry them but not any cheaper than anybody else.

Thats pretty much the tire I got, looks just like it. Except in your pic, the side wall shows Goodyear Wrangler AT and the ones I have say Goodyear Wrangler Radial. Tread pattern is the same. The guy at walmart said they get like 100 of these 4 times a year so thay sell um at a store only special buy price.

Wal Mart sells the Good year wrangler radial all season light truck tire like the picture posted shows  there is another tire wich I am looking at buying also made by good year but under wal mart name...Super sport radial HT lt tires ...I took a look at these things ....they are chunky like a MT and in the passerger rating of the 235-75-15 they are 118.98 dollars    I like them ...since my truck is daily driven they should be a smooth tire

oh yeah canadian dollars

I run Supersport 215 17R15's on my tracker. Really good tire. I don't have the LT version though, I have a passenger  one. just alittle narrower. It's a good tire for the buget buyer and relatively quiet on the road. I mostly drive on fourwheeler trails and woodroads when I don't use the tracker for a daily driver. I have a pic of my tracker with them on it in a couple of threads, I'll post it again if you wish.
