Title: power steering
Post by: bzkyle on October 13, 2003, 02:36:59 PM
i have a 88 zuki sammy. just done the spring over(on top of the 5in calmini lift). ;D also just put a mini spool in the back axle and detroit ez locker in the front. im runnig 33/12.50/15 super swamper boggers on 15x10 wheels. My power steering just aint cutting it, im just not strong enough. i have seen a couple of power steering setups. one being right off a sidekick and the other custom made with a gm power steering pump and some sort of steering box. i have heard the sidekick power steering will over heat and burn up the pump. i want to build the other set up but im not sure of what i need to build it ??? if some one has some insight on what i need please let me know. thanks for your help.

my buddy did a power steering conversion on is 95 sami
and he found info on the net about  using a toyota celica power steering box . anyways thats what he used and it is suppose to be able to handle up 38 inchers  really strong  steering box . almost bolts right up 2 out of the three holes then just drilled a new hole through the frame and installed a sleeve so as to not squish the frame and put alonger bolt through . thats about all i can remember  , truck's  gone now ,he died last year of brain cancer .  not sure what year celica  either  search the net     Jake
