Title: Custom Intake Mod
Post by: track_this on October 02, 2003, 12:09:43 PM
this is my custom intake with a heat shield on it, the position i think is the best as it is the highest point under the hood(good for water crossing). i bought the filter at peboys its worked good for me.(http://angelfire.lycos.com/tx6/tracker/intakemod.JPG)

Interesting, I was thinking of something close to your setup but with a K&N. Do you have any idea what that rectangular box on the factory intake hose is for?

i think that box is actually an overflow if you get into some water. i need to rotate it to the bottom of the intake so it works better, if thats what it is actually for ???. i thought about a k&n but was worried it would get a lot of mud and water splashed onto it.

I was thinking a silencer, I've seen similar items on some Ford Products. Think I'll take it apart just to see what's in there.

that gets me wondering...if it is a silencer then off with it. i dont need no silencer. the louder the better.
