OK GOOD NEWS FIRST :D...SPOOL & GM ALTERNATOR BRACKET WILL BE HERE FRIDAY..HOORAY FOR TRAIL TOUGH....ALSO SPENT FIRST FULL WEEK OF REGULAR DRIVING MY KICK , FILLED HER UP & IT TOOK A WHOLE $10.73, NOW NORMALLY I WOULD SPEND ATLEAST $35. A WEEK IN GAS.... ;D NOW THE BAD NEWS :'( ..GOT A FAX FROM CALMINI 6 DAYS AFTER ORDER TO FIND THAT THEY HAVE THE BODY LIFT, BUT THE SUSP. LIFT IS ON BACK ORDER TIL APRX. THE 15TH OF AUG. :( HERE I WAS EXPECTING VIA UPS THURSDAY :-/ OH WELL I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO WAIT .....ANYONE KNOW WHAT ALTERNATOR I SHOULD BE PICKING UP TO USE ON MY KICK W/ THAT BRACKET FROM TRAIL TOUGH ???
-
Definately wait for the backordered lift, you wont be dissapointed.
-
I waited 6 weeks for my body lift, not sure if the slow down was from Calmini (as the store I ordered it from said) or from the store itself. But no matter, it was worth the wait.
::)
-
i waited 2 months for my freakin body lift when they said it was in stock ...

Maybe it's a problem with getting that stuff up to us here in Canada!
;D ;D ;D

;D ;D ;D
Well i would of said that if i would of ordered it myself at home ... but it was ordered from the Chrysler Jeep Dealer i got a contact there that works on modding 4x4's and his son had a lifted tracker before and he ordered it for me .. i doubt they would have problems getting parts fast hehe
-
I ordered mine direct from Calmini on a Wednesday, and it showed up the following Wednesday. Had them ship it UPS direct to my work. Total 3" kit with the steering stabilizer, shipping, and brokerage fees plus taxes totaled $1725.50 The kit alone from a supplier here was $2200 without taxes, I saved a bundle. The shops also wanted $500 to install the kit, so I did it myself. All the shops here slam the calmini kit, they want me to spend three or four grand to install a solid axle instead. So why give them the profits of selling me the kit. Do it yourself it's cheaper, and more rewarding.
-
mine was only 1 week as well, to Vancouver Island. I agree with agent orange, there is a shop on the mainland that has my friends son convinced to drop a ton of cash to do a SAS with a Samurai housing, and there solution to the width is to run spacers, and he also has to find the sami front end. Complete rip off, and a waste off money IMHO.

WELL UNFORTUNATELY CALMINI IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK OF THE 3" LIFT KIT :( .....I SAW THE FAX MYSELF :o ...WE ARE WAITING ON THE KIT :'( , NOT GOING ANYOTHER ROUTE.... GONNA HURRY UP & WAIT... THIS GUY IS FAIR AND HONEST TO DEAL WITH.. HE SAID I COULD ORDER MYSELF OR HE COULD PROBABLY OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM & GET IT.... BUT EITHER WAY HE WOULD HELP ME GET IT INSTALLED ..HE'S NOT ONE OF THESE MAIN STREET SHOPS THAT ARE ALL ABOUT THE MONEY........WORKS FROM THE SHOP & GARAGE RIGHT AT HIS HOUSE......AND WITH MY LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OF MECHANICS I FIGURE IT WOULD BE SMART TO GET HELP FROM SOME ONE ON MY FIRST PROJECT ......SO I CAN PUT IN LIFT BUT HAVE HIS HELP AT A VERY LOW COST......I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED ..HAPPY ZUKING! MATTY D. ;D
-
Sounds like a good idea, hey backorders happen I am a manager for a manufacturing company, and backorders are part of life, customer demand is higher than product QTY.
Remember Calmini builds all there stuff, and with a very soft US economy, I too would not want to have a huge over stock of these items, and the demand for these kits is High, if I am right I think there are 4 or 5 of us on this list alone in the last month or so who have purchased this lift. Don't go sour on Calmini they are a great company to deal with.

NOPE NO SOURNESS HERE ;D JUST PATIENTLY WAITING ::) JUST DIDN'T WANT Y'ALL TO THINK I WAS BEING TALKED INTO ANOTHER SET UP........FROM SOME HIGH PRESSURED SALESMAN ;D
-
THANKS TRAIL TOUGH :-* ! RECEIVED ITEMS ON DAY PROMISED ;), ALSO THANKS FOR THE COOL DECAL :o. I'LL PUT IT ON MY KICK ONCE I GET THE WINDOWS TINTED, SO I KNOW IT WILL BE SEEN WHERE I PUT IT ;) NOW IF THE 15TH WOULD JUST HURRY UP & GET HERE :D HAPPY ZUKING! MATTY D. 8)
-
ALLRIGHTY THEN! CALMINI SHIPPED MY LIFT ON MONDAY ;D SO I WONT GET UNTIL NEXT WEEK :'( SO MUCH FOR GETTING IT IN OVER THE THREE DAY WEEKEND ::) BUT ATLEAST ITS ON ITS WAY :P STILL PATIENTLY WAITING ;) HAPPY ZUKING! MATTTY D.
-
Keep your fingers crossed it might just show up by Friday. I had Calmini e-mail me the ups tracking number to track my shippment online, it was fun to see it make all those stops before showing up at the receiving dept. at work.
Good luck.
-
WELL UNFORTUNATELY IT TAKES 5 TO 6 DAYS FROM CA. TO HERE..BUT MOST OFTEN ITS 5 DAYS.....NOT 4 TO 5 SO I WONT HOLD MY BREATHE...BUT I WILL KNOW WHEN IT COMES CAUSE I DELIVER THE AREA WHERE I LIVE & WHERE THE SHOP IS THAT ITS GOING TO....
-
OKBAD NEWS TOOK 7 BUSINESS DAYS TO GET HERE SHOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN 5 SO MAYBE WITH UPS'S GUARANTEED TIME IN TRANSIT THEY SCREWED UP AND WE CAN GET REFUNDED FOR SHIPPING ;D YEA RIGHT :-/ OR IT WASN'T SHIPPED AS STATED >:( BUT THANK GOD FOR TRACKING WE WILL BE ABLE TO TELL :D ALSO WHEN RECIEVED THE BOX WITH ALL THE HEAVY ARMS AND STUFF HAD A BIG HOLE WHERE THE ARMS WERE RUBBING ON BOX :( HOPEFULLY ALL IS IN THERE..WILL HAVE TO CHECK TOMORROW DIDN'T HAVE TIME TODAY :'( BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT ITS HERE AND IF ALL IS IN THERE I CAN GET IT PUT IN SATURDAY :P
-
Good news :)
If it makes you feel better, when I received my kit just about everything was falling out of the box. You must admit though, those control arms are heavy duty, and they weigh allot compared to the stock ones, but all the parts were there. Well good luck Saturday, and if I may suggest be sure to read the instructions several time, and if you have any questions before starting post them tomorrow night, so that we can help you.
Later. ;D
-
OK THANKS ..I THINK CALMINI SHOULD WRAP THE SIDEWALLS OF THAT BOX WITH TAPE ;) ALL OTHERS WERE AS NEW....I SEE IT ALL THE TIME WHEN YOU HAVE MOVING METAL PARTS AGAINST CARDBOARD, THE METAL ALLWAYS WINS ::) THE KEY IS TO CUT DOWN THE SIDES OF BOXES TO MAKE TIGHT PACK WITH NO ROOM TO MOVE,,, SO STEVE IF YOUR READING FOR FURTHER SHIPMENTS, THE SIDE WALLS NEED A LIITLE HELP ON THE BIG HEAVY BOX WITH ARMS AND STUFF ::) FOR ITS NO FUN AS A DRIVER TO BRING THESE TO A CUSTOMER AND SAY SORRY FOR THE HOLE , BUT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PACKED BETTER & TIGHTER ;D CAUSE EVERYONE WANTS TO BLAME UPS ..WHEN 75% OF THE TIME ITS THE SHIPPERS FAULTY PAcking, that causes PACKAGES TO BECOME CRUSHED OR DAMAGED :o YES I'LL LET YA BLAME 25 % ON US ;D
-
As long as you are ready to except some of the blame thats alright with me.

ME EITHER ,,,,BUT THAT BLUE SURE DONT GO WITH THE GREEN EXTERIOR ;D
-
Hey NY,
When you install the lift I definately recommend doing the rear diff over rotation mod! It doesnt take long to do and makes the pinion angle much better. Also raise that gas tank.
Later,
Bill
-
THE TANK LIFT IS ON THE TO DO LIST EVENTUALLY....NOT SURE ON THE DIFF ROTATION THING ..POST A LINK TO THE WRITE UP IF THERE IS ONE PLEASE......THANKS MATTY D...
-
You'll like this. It's on my to do list, hopfully this year.

I'm glad to hear that you are almost done, but in your haste don't forget to buy and install front and rear bumpers and a winch. Wouldn't want your allignment to be off!
-
NY,
I just got back from Coal Creek/Windrock in Tennessee. I have stock gears with 33x12.50 TSL Radials and I never had a problem with running out of motor. I went up a very steep hill that a sammy couldnt because he bogged down and he had 31's on his. I will put gears in mine but now I know I can do it when I get a chance. Youll be able to hit most trails with no problem with stock gears.
Later,
Bill
-
AS PER BUMPERS WELL THEY GOTTA WAIT..BUT WE WILL BE WORKING ON AN UGLY BUT HEAVY FRONT BUMPER FOR NOW...I'LL HAVE TO ASK BRIAN ABOUT THE ROTATION THING FOR A LATER PROJECT......BRLJ GOT ANY PICTURES OF YOUR ZUKE WOULD LIKE TO SEE ...I'M A PICTURE NUT ...LOVE THOSE PICTURES OF BIG ZUKES ;D......THANKS MATTY D...

Bill,
Was that trail 7 your talking about? It's an awesome climb ;D
Zig
-
He didnt make it up trail 7 either ;D . Hes got my map when I get it back Ill let you know what it was. It was just dirt and no rocks but it was very steep! Rattle Rock and trail 14 were no-no's for all of us lol. There was a small stairstep by the top of 14 I got up with not much problem. I didnt get to try 7 because it was late night and I went to sleep when they left. Hope next time we can meet up and hit the trails.
Later,
Bill
-
If you do 7 do it in the middle of the day :o You dont get the same oh S|removethispart|@#t effect at night. It's not that technical, just seat bitting steep and long 8)
Zig

Bill,
I just remembered the trail number. Was it 21 that you were on? If it was you would remember the drop into the creek bed :o Are you from the Tennessee area? If so will you be coming to the Dixie Run in Tellico?
Zig
-
Zig,
I live in SE Indiana, but my wife has family in Oak Ridge area and we have a lot on the Clinch river. I wont make it to NC this year but I will be down for the Dixie run at Coal Creek next year. When I get my map back Ill find out what trail that was. We all made a mistake and went down the trail to see the waterfall and got all jammed up in that little area. Not enough room for 6 rigs down there. Oh yeah I did see an awsome piece of machinery though. It had a Jeep grill , a GM V6 ,some kind of frame with tubing for the sides and top, wooden lift blocks :o, and a wooden box in the back for a rider/cargo. It was sitting there on a pull off with nobody arourd. A while later we seen it on another trail with no one in sight. ???
Later dude,
Bill
