Title: dual exaust

has any one ever heard of puten a flow master on and converting a tracker/kick to a dual rear exuast?

Do you mean single cat, then split to duals, or do you mean split it at the exhaust manifold and dual cat's?  Dave

Both of my 16 valve side kick engines have a dual manifold down pipe going into one just befor the cat to get the cat hot enough to work right, after that you could do what ya want! no cat you could put duals on with two muffs but that is just extra wheight and tubing getting in the way but it mite sound better? run two smaller pipes and muffs?

Duals, everyone wants dools, fact is
the best torque comes from a single
pipe that is matched to the engine size.

The new factory setups are using big bore
downpipe into a cat then smaller out to a
muff and out the back, and the milage and
torque is great for a V8 in a full size truck,
heck I wish I had that kind of power and MPG.

i mean haven a single manifold going to a flow master with two exaust outlets

Well, I've never done it, at least with a 4 banger.  But like was said ealier, I think you need a little back flow if you want to get some torque.  Just a thought though, I'm not too sure.  Have fun ;D  Dave

As mentioned above, you need some backpressure to generate torque at low rpms.  Putting a dual outlet muffler on a single pipe system will drop your backpressure some (not sure how much, but it will drop), but not nearly as much as going with true duals.  

My question is why do you want to do this?  If you're looking for more power on the highway at speed, it will probably help a little at the expense of some low end torque.  If you want to do it for the "look" of duals, that's your choice and go ahead and do it.
