Title: 4WD LOW POPPING OUT ?

OK I WAS OUT PLAYING ON A BACK COUNTRY DIRT ROAD TESTING THE 4WD FOR ANY DISTANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME .....4WD HIGH WORKS GREAT NO PROBLEMS..4WD LOW WORKS GREAT AS WELL TIL YOU HIT A FEW BUMPS THEN THE T- CASE  WANTS TO JUMP OUT OF GEAR  :o INTO NUETRAL ??? EASY FIX OR PAIN IN THE BEHIND ??? WILL BE WORKING ON KICK THIS WEEKEND SUPPOSED TO PUT LIFT IN THIS SATURDAY ..IF IT GETS HERE :'( SUPPOSED TO BE TODAY BUT SHOULD BE IN BY SAT.   MY SUPERWINCH LOCKING HUBS MADE IT IN THOUGH ;D THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR INPUT & HELP  MATTY D.  8)

Did you body lift the vehicle? That same thing happned when I body lifted mine. The T-case shifter was touching the floor pan and when I would hit bumps, it would kick it out of low.

NO NOT YET! HOPEFULLY I'M DOING IT SATURDAY IF IT GETS HERE..CALMINI'S COMBO LIFT WAS SUPPOSEDLY SHIPPED OUT OF CALMINI LAST MONDAY WHICH WOULD PUT IT HERE THIS TUESDAY :-/  NOW ITS WEDNESDAY AND STILL NO LIFT >:( TRYING TO GET TRACKING # BUT NO LUCK ON THAT YET :'( I'LL KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED ::)

minesdoing the same thing, jumps out of 4 hi and back into 2 HI, I figure its in the trans fer case and maybe a syncro if they have those. any one have an exploded view of the transfer case ?

mine does that but got 2" BL i just cut the floor pan so it doesnt happen

What year ?  The transfer cases on the 98 & earlier are different to the 99 and later - 98's and earlier have no synchros, 99 and later have one and jumping back from 4HI to 2HI is a known problem on the 99 and later - Suzuki has a fix for it, I think it's a change of selector hub or something similar.

Hi everyone!
I had this exact problem occuring while offroading,very anoying,I solved it completely by doing 3 things,first cutting the bottom part of the boot inside the cabin,this boot is made of a firm rubber that was enterfering with the lever putting
pressure against it popping it out of gear as soon as the tranny slightly swayed when tork was applied,just doing that made a big difference,second I installed a brass shifter sheet from LOWRANGE OFF ROAD,third,I made a .020'' shim out of a feeler
gauge and put it on top of the spring and ball of the shift rod.Happy to say after some severe trail its working flawlless.
Ah yes,I have the 4.24 gears and no body lift.
