Title: Grinding on my XL-7 case
Post by: Zukipilot on September 02, 2003, 12:59:20 AM
Does anyone know if it will hurt to grind one of the ridges off of my XL-7 steel casing? I finally got my Anvil installed this weekend but one of the ridges is hitting the cross member. I will need to grind 1.5" of the ridge down flush with the main casing.

Wha-wha-wha-what!? Are you serious? I'm perplexed man, has your crossmember been bent or somethin? I think that I'd actually move the crossmember instead. Remember, you're putting in that 3rd member because you wanted strength due to breakage.

Dont be to confused :P I was thinking going from all aluminum to steel and cast, that a little grindage wouldnt hurt ??? And YES, I have a bent cross-member on my kick and mentally too :P

I tried the beat the hell out of the cross-member with a BFH, but that did not work. I also thought of  notching the cross-member, but that did not seem to smart :o
