I am looking to go to the other side and do the D44 swap on my sammi this winter. I am extremly tired of broken axles and birfs. I know most everyone is going to tell me to go to Yotas but I have a free set of D44 out of a scout I would like to put in. Fabrication is not an issue just need as much info as I can get. I tried going to POR but I had a very hard time getting info. So any help would be great. Thanks alot TOM

Dana 44s are are great choice for your Samurai. It's really a pretty straight forward swap if you're keeping the leaf spring suspension. Do you have any specific questions?

I really want to use the scout axles I have FREE axcess to but I have a feeling they will not be the best choice from what I have heard. From what I understand the Waggy axles will be the best choice due to the offset rear, and I belive the better front pinion angle. If I am wrong please corrrect me. I also have in the plans to lenthen the frame 10 inches in the rear and buggie leaf it. What do you guys think I should try and plan for and what to use. Any info is greatly appriciated. Thanks TOM
