My question is how does one get to be able to test run all of the new fun toys or projects for the fab companies like Calmini, Rocky Road, etc.
I like the idea of the Calmini S.A.S., and would love to be able to test run one on my '95 4-door wagon.
Also, for Mike. I read your write up of widening the I.F.S. and plan to do it when I return home. My question is, I have been looking at the Anvil as a suitable sub for a solid axle but was wondering if you would still be able to run the wider front end. Right now my Kicker has the 3 in. body lift, and 1 in. coil spacers. Will my coil spacers work with the Anvil as well?

Right now, they're nothing big, 235/75 on a set of American Racing 36 specials, you know the ones that everyone seem to be running :(. But that will change once I have the complimentary 3 in suspension. I'm looking at running a 32 in. on a set of Hellcats.

The Anvil only works if you have the 3" Kick Suspension or 2.5" GV system. You can not use the Anvil on a Kick without a CALMINI suspension.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm debating whether or not to do the Calmini 3 in system or try something new. Being a machinist/welder for the Air Force does come with some advantages :D. One thought that had crossed my mind came after looking over the Rocky Road and Spidertrax websites. What about converting to the Samarai style leaf spring set-up, with sas and go with a quarter-elliptic rear suspension and coil set-up up front?
Has it been done, or even really thought of?
One of my major concerns are of my brake lines, I'd like to be able to replace them with some longer ones, but can't seem to find any for my vehicle. Yet, I see them everywhere for the Sammi.

You said with the GV that's funny I called Camini last week and they said it wouldn't work. So what do you know that I don't . I didn't get to talk with Steve. So I may have just been given an answer to shut me up :-X If you do know this for fact then I'm saving up some $$$ and getting one.
Also any more info. on that 3" bd lift for the gv's????

Good question. I dunno. Steve was talking about putting one in my GV back before its-release. He didn't mention if it would be different as t the brackets. Come to thing of it, the factory cast brackets are different between the GV and Kick, soooo :-/. He might have been talking about a proto to testing, I guess.
Seems the only thing different would be the drop brackets welded to the Anvil. I'll talk to him about it. If it might happen, I'll let you know so you can put the money aside. If not, I'll help you find the steel stuff. Wait, are you still stick? I thought you got an auto.
As for the body lift, he said he'll let me know soon if they will do it, demand remains an issue. I pointed out the other current "offerings" and the news about Rockhopper. Steve's kit is rather thought out and well constructed, and even if it's priced around the aussie kit, I think it will be more complete and a better deal.

The anvil should work on any 2-3 inch lifted tracker or sidekick. I cant see any reason why it wouldnt work ???
Kicker in ks- With only I inch coil spacers and 31s I dont know if widening would be a good idea yet. You have enough tire clearance, your camber and caster should still be good right? Widening really pays off when the suspension gets about 3 inches of front lift and camber and caster are poor. It is nice to only carry one spare axle shaft but are you having a problem with that yet?If you wanted to run the anvil I would add another 3/4 inch of spacer all the way around, flip the upper strut plate, add OME struts, and 91 Crown Victoria shocks. BUT after all that you could almost buy a manufactors kit :-/ Am I making any sense or am I just rambling now ::)

That makes sense. I was thinking about the Calmini system, but now I am wondering if I would have to take off my coil spacers if I got the anvil. I machine/weld with the Air Force, and was looking to make this rig "mine" so to speak. My whole idea was to try to venture away from the norm. While I like the options for suspension systems, it seems that there would have to be other ways to get a couple of inches for under 900 dollars. (See my question on TJ springs) Yet, still get the same or close to the same results.
I like your write up on the 9in rear end, and lifting the gas tank, both of which I'll look at as possibilities when I return home. Its the little tricks like that, that I'm looking for. Like using Crown Vic or F150 shocks, which I will be changing for sure. There's always a sense of pride and accompishment I get when I can tell someone that, that (looking at my project, whatever it be) is my handy work. Like Nate's swingaway bumper for a four-door. Please feel free to suggest anymore modifications for my rollerskate, I quite enjoy the feedback I'm receiving. It only serves to help me better my knowledge and my Zuk. ;D

One of the best mods I did was to change over to 4 Door Brakes,
if you have a 2 door and some big tires you will like the way they
make you stop. I dunno when ABS started so I don't know how this
would affect the swap.
Better stopping on 31" than stock brakes and tires. ;)
PS this is the mod Mike has not told you about yet :o
