Somebody pick a day ... I'm thinkin Evans? Reiter would be fun too ...
-
Would you be willing to take on a fairly new off roader only had the zuk less than a year, or are you looking for really built rigs and lots of experience?
-

Reiter, next Sunday, 4/3, 9:00am?
didn't see your post till now (and was busy with yard work this last weekend anyway ...)
I'm workin to get some folks for a run at evans on 4/23 ... 9am bottom of the 311 trail.
Post up if you need directions and/or plan to join ...
-
I'm good for a run. Might be able to bring another Zuk or two along. :D
-
I would like to come please look at the above post of mine and say yes that is ok or no it is not thanks.
-
Bashzuk,
I don't expect this trip requires "lots of experience" or "really built rigs", so some along .
I will say tho, you should at least have 1 locker and some good mud tires. It will probably get slimy up there with all the recent snow/rain.
-
You should be ok if I'm not leading. I tend to not pay attention to little things like body damage. ;D
-
I just realized that I'll be up there the weekend before with the club I'm looking at joining. Only club in Oly WA that got back to me, was a jeep club. but hey people in town to wheel with are hard to come by apparently.
So if I don't end up breaking something that weekend I should be there.
Should be able to install my locker before the 15th.
Chicks dig body damage anyway. ;D

Heh ... body damage comes with the territory :)
At Evans you might as well expect it! I was careful my last time there, and still almost lost my left mirror. I can get tight!
-
If you are running a sidekick, take off your mirrors at evans.
-
Did you ever get your mirrors setup so you could take them off?

not yet ... I'm going to run=prep next weekend, and examine the mirrors then too. I need them to drive to the trail (especially with my hardtop), but would luv to put em under a seat when I'm there.
-
BashZuk.......try emailing officers|removethispart|@wazuks.ws it is a Suzuki 4x4 club. They do trail rides every month plus some other stuff.
-
Actually I'm in contact with Tom
He told me about the run on the 16th.
I'm doing a run with the JHEEP / 4x4 club in oly that I'm looking at joining that weekend at Evans Creek, given that I can get my Zuki back together. Tore the rear axle apart trying to get a locker in it.
I'm also trying to get to one of the WaZuks meetings if I can stop being on call the weeks of the meetings.
For those about to slam that I'm looking at joining a JEEP club if anyone knows of a zuki club in Olympia WA I would love to know about it otherwise zip it

Wheel when/where/with whomever you can ... it's all good.

Wheel when/where/with whomever you can ... it's all good.
My thoughts exactly and then try to get as many other people involved as possible.

For those who may need it, here's a general map to the ORV area
(http://www.nmaoffroad.org/orvguide/orv4.gif)
It's pretty easy to get to .... find your way to carbonado, follow the hwy for about 12 miles past carbonado (watch for a sign past the 1 lane bridge for a branch to the right) ...
Here's a trail map (printable in landscape mode).

The plan is to meet at 9am in the lot at the bottom of 311.

here is a little bit bigger map of the same as above,
http://nad27.com/special/4x4/evans/evans.JPG
as the maps they have to pick up at evans will lead a novice wheeler onto a double black diamond ie the 198 trail with out letting you know it.
which my buddy and I did in stock sammy's picture of it on my web site.

Of course, things always change when they are wet. ;D
That doesn't look like it will be an issue this weekend though. Clear skys on the forcast...
-
evans has it all ...
those pics don't do justice to the difficult areas (i.e. that's a wide clearance area).
the start of 196 requires some careful drivin or your doing 2-3 rolls to the bottom. (and some have been airlifted out becuase of that).
some parts of 198 just imply body damage ...
I consider it a zuk playground (tight, steep, slick/slimy ...)
-
I can't wait let me tell ya. sent you a pm sno and drone
Does any one know the approximate time it takes to get from carbonado to the Evans Creek Entrance?
I can't remember ???
-
I think about 15-20 minutes.
-
Kung Foo Hustle friday night, wheeling all saturday. Going to be a good weekend. :)

Didn't get many pics, but ...

Great run today thanks for letting my tag along.
It was nice to put faces with the names.
can't wait to wheel with the three of you again.
laugh I wondered what took you so long from the 198 junction
-
Student drivers, you know how they are. ;D
Good run though, lots of fun. Now I just need to find time to put either power or hydro steering onboard so I can make those corners...
I'll post as soon as I have info on the run in a couple weeks for you. So far we have one or two Zuk's signed up. :)
-
Hey, I almost managed to walk it sideways outta there :) that dang little root needed the shove.
I guess I started getting cocky with the front locker and well ... shoulda just backed out rather than turn around ...
-
Info on the next run. We are looking at meeting up on May 7th in Everette at 8:00, which should put us at the trails around 10:00.
We will probably be looking to have some fun, so any Ford Rangers that show up will probably be left behind. ;D
-
Which trails are you planning on running?
-

I'm not going to be able to make that run (need to get some yard work done :( )
-
Shame you won't be making it. But there will be other runs, depending on my work schedule. :)
I want to run 311, then either go up 311A to 198 to 197 to 519, or just take 311 through and drive up to 519. From there maybe go down and run 195 to 198 real quick or just take 102 out again. So basically... I want to hit just about all of them! ;D Time/vehicle condition dependent of course.
Oh yea, I found that new transfer case mount for you... it was in the back of my truck. :p
-
We'll be there this time my fiance' will actually be able to come :)
so meet in day parking at ???
I'll get there about 9 or 9:15 how's that sound.
Mind if I ask if some jeeps want to tag along?
-
You can show up whenever, I won't be there until 10:00ish. ;D
Bring whomever you want as long as they are cool. I'm just looking for a relaxing time on the trails.
-
Should I make sure their rigs are as capable as mine :P
-
It probably depends on how wet it is. If it keeps raining at least one locker would be a good idea. :D
But you know how these Zuki's are. They'll go through just about anything with enough motivation.
-
hmm I think the jeep club I'm looking at joining is trying to give me a hint not one single person responded to my email about the trip this weekend.
