Title: Virgin tracker run at Reiter
Post by: SnoFalls on February 05, 2005, 11:25:48 PM
My tracker went out saturday with what turned into a large group. Drone67 came along in his (very capable) sj410, and Jarvis in a (nicely built) sami made up the zuk contingent. So, we had 3 generations of zuks along.

Lots of other rigs did the run (too many IMO), and included some nice older broncs, some hard core fullsize rigs, and a few other unreconizable bastardized rigs/buggys.

I managed to bring just about everything EXCEPT MY CAMERA!. Good thing I had jumper cables, used em 5 times (for other rigs), the magnet probe came in useful (again another rig) ... but I forget the camera  :-/

I went for a budget build .. running 31" tires, 2" BL, 1" spring spacers, and a spool in the rear. All us zooks made it through stuff that was giving some in 38's trouble. I coulda used some more clearance, but for a first run was pleased with how my rig performed.

I do have a few pics taken by another in the group, and that might satisy the pic hungry (beware some non-zuk photos!)

We had ... sun and snow ... unworthy rigs, and impressive rigs ... some breakage, but too many breakdowns ... in all a good time.

One thing we got NO pics of was Kris (in an sj410) hooked to me (in a tracker) hooked to a 5000lb bobbed rig as we pulled him across the creek (with 2" straps). Then my "big block" pulled him through the puddles back to the staging area where his trailer was.

No picks of when I had to pull-start one of the full sized Broncos as well.  1-liter of power baby!  ;D  Still, seeing you haul that full sized rig down the trail and the road was great.

I had some pictures from running around, but lost my camera on the log bridge.  Steped to far to the right, sliped and went right over the edge.  Holding onto the camera wasn't my first though... no idea where it went.  Maybe I'll be able to find it when the water level is lower this summer.

I wanted a new camera anyway.  :P
