Hi All,
does anyone know if it would be easy to adapt the 2.0L 1999-2002 GV with slightly modifying the 2.0L upgrade kit from trail tough.
Has anyone upgraded there motor and what did they use.

James,
Go find a '96-'98 swb 2.0 widetrack Vit (old style) to have a look at. It has the same 4cyl 2.0 motor. You will notice that the chassis is 60mm wider than yours so you will need to modify the mounts. You will also need to modify your loom. Maybe go and have a chat with Sam at Overkill in Hornsby.

you are actually looking for a '96 to '98 sidekick Sport with the 1.8L in it. Same engine as the 2,0 from what I've been told.
I think a 2.0 adpater to the 1.6 tranny would be a good seller.

It does but the flywheel is much thicker on the 2litre and its not the same bolt pattern. I have heard that the 2ltr bell housing will mate to the Tracker trans but the 2ltr is hydraulic clutch. I think Eric fitted a 1.8 in place of a 1.6?

2.0 to 1.6 bell to RingR to toy trans, yes the 1.6 bell direct bolt up to the 2.0. And yes you need to run a 1.6 flywheel and cable operated clutch.

wow OK this is cool to know! 8) Now what kind of wiring nightmare would I be getting into going from a 1.6 8V to the 2.0? I guess alot as they are totally different injection systems? Would I need to swap the complete wiring harness?
-
That I am not sure about I was sub'd out to make this work with the toy stuff and that was it. To make things more interesting the entire setup is going into a JEEP... Local zuk guy screwing with the Jeep crowd. I think he uesd the basic 2.0 harness and cut out what was not needed. I think for a swap you would be better off calling TT for his harness or mudle through a gob of wires and a schematic.

Not in OZ. We didn't have a 1.8, just the 2.0 4cyl swb and the 2.0 V6 lwb in the widetrack variation.

In the UK we got the V6 LWB but not a 2ltr swb or any 1.8

How did you make the 1.6 flywheel fit, did you have to modify it? The link to your website on your profile doesn't work

We machine the 1.6 flywheel to fit the 2.0 crank

Thanks, I'll look into that. I would ask you how much but the shipping would kill the deal.

New Flywheel $90. $120 to machine it. +SH So you have a reference.

Hi all,
question is the bell housing from the 2.0L 4cyl the same as the Bell housing for the 2.0L V6..
