Title: non start
Post by: derekj on May 03, 2005, 05:21:00 PM
i know this has been covered many times but i had a 89 tracker in my shop yesterday that did not start - good spark but no fuel. i traced the problem to a corroded connector behind the left tail lamp that wasn't letting any power to the fuel pump. i have never seen anybody mention this before so i thought it might be a good bit of info for everybody. there was a fair bit of rust behind this panel so it would be a good thing to waterproof now before it breaks if you get your truck wet and muddy.

must be the ground wire for the fuel pump, I was wondering where they put it.

the ground and the power feed are both behind the lens. the feed wire was pink and black. the connector was so corroded the wire just broke right off.

Good tip, I think its always worth posting this kind of stuff as it could help someone later (as long as they use the search, lol). I found the info for my diagnostic connector from a link on a post that was over a year old. Thats the good thing about a forum like this one - there is a lot of knowledge.
