when I use the left indicator the indicator does not go on but there is a buzzing noise....I was thinking bad relay.. any other thoughts?
-
try replacing your 4 way flasher
-
you mean the relay?
-
Sounds like the relay to me. I would replace it.
-
I have the exact same noise and it is caused by a poor contact point in the signal light switch which in turn causes the relay to chatter or buzz. Next time you turn on the signal try just wiggling or lifting the lever ever so slightly

I know this is old, but I have an 87 sami doing the exact same thing. It works perfectly for the left side, but it just buzzes when I try to make the right side blink. I'm gonna try looking at the switch, I'm just curious what fixed the problem on yours.

I had the same problem on my SJ-410, the issue was a bad ground at the lights.
-
It's the bulb or the flasher (relay) I seriously doubt it's the switch in the steering column

I had to replace the switch in the steering column, on the Gnewt, for just that problem.

ditto on my sidekick and sammy. tried to fix one on the sammy by cleaning the contacts. hard to get in there... ended up finding one from a friend.

Man, talk about resurrection, this thread started over 5 years ago!

Get some good electronic parts cleaning spray and take the cover off your steering wheel and column covers and thoroughly clean the whole switch assembly. Use some good quality dielectric grease to lube all the contact points and pivots when you are done. Put it all back together with new flashers for the turn signals and hazards and that should fix the entire problem. If it doesn't, then you need a new combo switch...

or a new truck >:D
