Stock springs on 93 geo tracker are tapered at the top in the front end and the springs are uniform in the rear. Should the spacer always go at the top? Seems like the spacer that fits the rear will fit the front at the bottom of the spring, any suggestions or pictures of front coil spacers on stock springs? I think the retention of the spring is the main issue if the spacer goes at the bottom.

My experience is that spacers made for the rear, work with the front just fine, on the tops of both sets of springs.

The 93 Tracker I have has tapered rear springs as well as fronts. ??? The spacers need to go on top of the springs because the bump stops that hang down from the upper spring cups are long enough to still keep the spring in position with the spacers installed. The bottom spring cup doesn't extend up far enough with a spacer added to keep the springs in place.

The springs are straight, not tapered,
but I think there is a definite up and down,
the bottom needs to lock into the depression
in the A-arm

The coils are mainly straight but with the top turn wound in tighter. The aftermarket coils I have on mine are straight but I have had no problems after 18,000 miles. Its not a big difference.
