Title: How to replace top tension thingie on 90?
Post by: keith on April 16, 2005, 09:54:21 AM
Today I was putting my top back on and noticed that one of the plastic loops that the top tension strap's goes into is broken.  Any idea how to replace it?  It looks like a part of that whole hingle mechanism.  Can the loop be replaced by itself?  Or has anyone else fabbed something in another way?

Hi Keith,

On my '96 it looks like the tension hook is swagged onto the same pin that the top frame hinges on.  There is space under the inside part of the bracket between the two screws.  It looks like you could loop a wire tie under the bracket.

You have to unfasten that side of the front frame and then the loop pries off quite easily. You should be able to find a replacement loop at a wrecker...
