Very  8)

Now for a step by step write-up and it would make a great tech article for the archives.

i've got a few questions

is that flange off a suzuki, or is it a piece of steel that you turned down in the lathe then drilled?

once you had welded the flange to the slipyoke shaft, did you use a lathe to make sure the flange mounting face is square?

could you give me the specs on the size of the hole u drilled in the shaft, the tap you used, and bolt size etc.

cheers :)

the flange is a piece of 3/8" plate that was boared ,welded to the yoke then parted then faced off on both sides then holes were drilled .

the holes in the outpuit shafts had to be doared out with carbide tiped boaring bar becouse of the case hardning, the hole is .3320, or really close and .9deep, with a relief cut around the outside of the hole to just over .3750 and .1 deep to remove the case hardning away from the tap, really didnt want a broken tap .
it was then tapped 3/8-24.
i had planed to stud the shafts with locktite and use a nut on the flange for removeing it . the studs in the pict are 3/8"-24x3/8"-16,with 3/8 nylocks

Just take the pics you posted and describe each of them including what you're doing or what it shows and any measurements/tools used. Doesn't need to be a novel just the facts. Have a look at Mikes articles in the archives to see what to do.

The term would be slip
shafts instead of slip yokes,
the shafts have the slip in
them instead of at the yoke
