my kick has been sitting for 2 yrs i drove it home and all the way i couldnt get it up over 80, and going up hills it was really dieing out, my uncle and dad said run the gas that was in it through and then refill it with supreme, there was only a quarter tank in it when i got it i filled it up with regular, when i got it home i took out the airfilter and replaced it, oh yeah the exhaust is alos rotted off after the muffler, the wires are brand new the distributor is a little dirty but i havent had a chance to check the plugs or the inside of the distributor would any of that be my problem or is there something else im looking over? any suggestions? plus when i do a tune up on it what plugs and wires should i use to try and squeeze a little more power out of it, plus anyother cheap ways i can get some more power out of it ?

Do a compression check. Might just be a tired engine. (I've never got mine close to 80 MPH)
Also the valve lash would be a worthwhile adjustment (to ensure that a valve isn't being held open ...)

I would guess that you got some water in the fuel, and that you may have a ton of gunk in the fuel filter. I would definitely replace the fuel filter!
Also - check for bird/rodent nests in the intake tubing before the air filter? This runs through the driver's side fender - you'll have to remove the wheel-well liner, if it's still installed.
