Title: secure my spare tire to my roof rack
Post by: cworkm on April 18, 2005, 08:33:17 AM
Does anyone here have a good way to secure my spare tire to my roof rack?
I can only find one "spare tire carrier" and they want $50 for
it.

Can't you tie it to the roof rack? There are some secure "lashes", if they are put properly it won't budge.
Watch out with putting a lot of weight on the roof if you like lateral inclinations. A friend of mine rolled a Sami because he wasn't used to the weight of the tire on the roof ::).

I'm thinking about it. ;) my wife may not like it. I tried to put the tire in the rack and it wouldnt clear the garage. My apartment complex has very low garage clearance.

Just a question: what is that bell doing in the front of the LR? Is it meant to be a horn? :D

It's a fire truck!

Look at the "pumper truck" sitting next to it.
