Hello. My name is Dryw (sounds like Drew).
I'm from Ottawa Canada. I'm a good friend of JDMCRX. The local Suzuki dealer gave him such a great deal on his Grand Vitara I went in and told them to hook me up.
I now have a silver 2001 GV 4x4 5 spd with 82,000km. So far, I love it.
I'm planning on larger tires, with a suspension lift via coil spacers this fall.
Hope to get as much info off this site as possible.

The pics turned out well.
Those white rims on your GV would look way better in black.

Welcome! ;D
-
Well Welcome aboard CE1_2NR
I don't have a GV but I do have 2 Kicks
This is the place to be for all your needs ;D
-
Welcome. It's nice to get people involved int he GV forum, instead of just using the the Suzuki "Everything" forum.

Hey guys.
I'm also a 4x4 newb from Ottawa.
Here is my new-to-me 2002 Tracker. I just bought it with 37000 kms. ;D
Probably not going to be doing any hardcore wheeling, as it's my daily driver, but I will be doing the logging trails around my camp and am looking forward to playing in the snow this winter.

JDMCRX, I gather you're also in Ottawa. If so, I'd like to take a look at your GV and your strut spacer kit, probably this spring.
My summer toy, also a zuk:

aceluck or whoever knows, what brand rims and size are on the silver tracker...
-
I'm not sure about the brand, as they were put on by the PO. I think they are Nitro. They're 16 inches by ?? wide. Don't know the width of them, but the tires are 225/60R16.
The wheels are currently in storage at my dad's, as I've got my winter steelies on the truck now, but next time I'm at my dad's I check the brand and post back up.

Holy crap there are a lot GVs in Ottawa. I am also in Ottawa I have a 99 GV 5 speed. I am not a Newb to offroading but I haven't used the GV offroad yet. I also met a guy with a 2 door Tracker with 29 in tires here as well.
I know of about ten trails all around the Ottawa area (mostly west near Calabogie) Some are stock capable with some really cool sections for modified trucks. I have wanted to bring the GV offroad but haven't had the guts as this is my DD and the wife would kill me if I broke anything (we just tell her) ;)
We should all get together for a trail run or we could just do beer and wings sometime.

Hey jodie
Yeah there are a few in town we should all meet up do some mudding
-
Most of the trails I know are Rock, with the exception of the Larose forest
-
So i see that there are a couple people that buy 2000's and up in this forum... are you guys not worried bout killin your truck? i have a 95 and thats about good for me on the 4x4 circut... and that silver one up there looks in good shape... you really gonna 4x4 in the woods with that??? ???

Really, but understand that I'm by no means going to rock crawl the thing. Logging trails, fireroads, and shallow mud are pretty much the most off-road it'll see. Basically, if the trail's tight enough that I'm going to have branches scratching the sides, it'll be too tight for me.
Basically, I spend my spring, summer, and fall on the motorcycle, so the truck only really drives in winter.

The Coke Ovens is the best test yet for this little guy and it has passed everything I've thrown at it.
