Title: IF I ...........
Post by: tonka-toy on February 27, 2005, 08:07:04 AM
If i put a 1.5 inch spring lift kit and a rocky road 1" spring spacer under our 2000 GV TD what tyres will i be able to get under. 30's would be what i am aiming for as i don't want to send the gearing to far out ( been there done that)
its mainly going to be a road car so extreme flex isn't an issue ... cutting the plastics is a no  no no no no

HELP

Hi!
It's nice to see someone else with a diesel engine! ;D
I have no experience with lifts yet, but I have ordered +1.5" springs and already have a 2" bodylift from RRO (still in a box). I plan to try later what shall fit.
In any case, I think you should take a look at nomaad's xl-7, although it may be different from the GV, it should show that it is going to be tight. he has the calmini kit (+2.5") and the body lift, and those 265/70/16 (30.7") are really tight. With the setup you propose, I think a 29" would be much safer (like a 235/70/16).
I insist I hava no direct experience though...
By the way, here is a link to nomaad's tires: http://www.zukiworld.com/cgi/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=xl7_talk;action=display;num=1111683882

Edit: there is a post in this same section that also discusses tires. This is the link:http://www.zukiworld.com/cgi/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=gv_talk;action=display;num=1106454747

If you have a 3rd member it's not a Dana.  If it has a a bolt on rear cover it could be a Dana.

This is the best pic I could find on my computer. Does it look like a Dana? It does have that rear bolt, but still I don't think that makes it a dana ???
