It was awesome!! Best one yet for us, even though only half our Zuks were still running by the time we left!! :( I've got a few pics up at http://community.webshots.com/album/391773545ZaUFbN.

Work problems and my wife not feeling well conspired to keep me from going. That and the fact that I didn't really want to drive the Tracker 200 miles to get there. I actually rented a trailer to pull it with my Montero Sport, but the trailer set-up had too much tongue weight for the MS. I would have like to make it though.

Long trip for me, and an expensive one.
Got another tree rub on the wheelwell flare. Tore off both side lower facia to the XL7. I bent the kick panel on the driver's side while trying to quest a peak. On the passenger side, backed into a root ball and put a dent up high in the tailgate, then same root ball marked my lower rear door on the passenger side. All damage was sheetmetal though. :o :(
The front cast steel housing took it in stride. Spun several times, back and forth while teeter-tottering and I know the aluminum wouldn't have held.
Got beat by the stock hardtop Kick in the 'Stiffy' award in the RTI.
On the way there and back, towing a 16' Scamp camper, the 'Check Engine Soon' light came on. Went off next day at 'melt. Went off today. Don't know what it could be.
Checked all fluids and I'll need to change the tranny fluid as it's really brown now. Forgot the camera so no pics of 'Melt for me.

Also, met Mike, Bill, and Eric/family.
Mike is obvious. Bill, he's owns the red 2dr Tracker with the exo all around. He wanted to sell it once, but decided to keep it. Eric/family is the white 2dr Tracker known as Lil Truck. He's out of MI. Met several other people and even a new owner (Calvin??) to that overally large show Kick that was on Ebay. He had lowered it some, but it fell off the trailer on the way there.
It was hot during the day, cool at dusk and a bit nippy at night. Dry conditions led to lots of dust and dry dirt, but made great for rock face encounters.
Would I go again, yes. However, I'll need more belly clearance to match with the others that were there.

I just wanted to publicly thank everybody who put on the melt this year. I thought the campground was sweet and the entrance to the park was seemless. I have been to the melt almost every year and this was by far my favorite. I know that this event was put on by a different site but I know a lot of them are on this board.

Just got home yesterday from a 2 week vacation that included Zuki Melt. The family always loves to get out in the woods wheeling and now my 10 years old daughter wants to know when she gets to drive...
Had a blast and it was great camping right out side the park. Also was nice to meet a couple people from here also.

It rocked! I drove my Zuke out from Jersey less than one day after finishing my 16valve 1.6 swap. Only busted part was my rear pinion exploded 110miles away from the melt. Thanks to AAA I made it there, fixed the zuke, kicked around for two days and drove home. Great time and great people. If you wanna get to know people there really fast, just break something that you need to fix to get home ;D

Zukipilot:
Wacky as usual!
The turnout was aobut the same as 2003 - the last time I was able to go - and bigger than last year.
I did lots of wheelin' and managed to do some cosmetic damage. Maybe a 4"hairline crack across the rear bottom of the 'cat isn't cosmetic, but I was able to drive back to KC with no problems.
The night run was pretty good! hardly had to chase anyone down and round them up as in years past. No trail traffic jams!
Somebody actually rolled their Zuk in the Rally! No injuries, just a broken windshield and frame. I ran the course and found it more challenging than the last time I did it (2001). Sean Devinney would have been dissappointed -- no jumps!
The Rock Rage was held in the shade on the opposite side of the quarry.
No rain! Always a plus if you are camping, I guess.
Finally, I got to meet a lot of folks that hang out both here and at ORC in person!

Ack,
Good to hear you made it again this year. 2003 was the last time I made it up too. I hope to be there next year though.
