Has any of you guys got one of these? It looks like it might be a cheaper alternative to a rock box.I have a tracker trans. and t-case in my shop I've been saving for no aparent reason.Do you have to use the tracker trans. If so, will it bolt to my 1.3. Thanks,Tim

I have one. In my opinion, I think its better than the Rock Block. Not only is it HALF the price, it also allows you to use the stronger tracker Transmission with the heavier flywheel and it marries everything together for a stronger, vibration free, drivetrain. It can be used with the 1.3 with the help of the Lucky13. Also, I think the sami 4:1 gears are a must with this install, that would give you the low range options of 2:1, 4:1 and 8:1. Without the sami gears you would be 2:1, 2.28:1 and 4.28:1 in which case it would be cheaper to just go with sami gears instead of the Kicker

Thanks for the input. Is the lucky13 something you get from OTT? I have 4.89:1 in the t-case already so would that mean in low low it would be close to 10:1!!

You'll need to bolt it up to the Kick transmission.
We've been using ours for a year and a half now.
Its been working great, `cept for our last Moab trip, when we think we bent a shifter fork.
The jury is still out on the cause of our issue, but it kept popping out of low.
Since then, we've been running a spare Kicker 3 from a buddy and other than our Moab issue, we run 4.24:1 gears in ours and it has been working awesome. Having all of the options to run in either regular 4 low (2.2), super low (4.2), and then compounded low (~9.3) has been a very usefull experience.
Since we've been running the spare, which doesn't have the 4.24 gears, its been great to use too, we still have 3 low range options, 1.8, 2.2, and 3.24.
Having the mated t-cases keeps the vibrations down.
Installation was easy. We made 2 new cross members, one for the transmission/kicker-3 and one for the sammy t-case to keep strength at a maximum. (might even call it over kill)

I agree on the Sami t-case gears too. If you put the low range in the sammy t-case, you'll get the additional high range reduction, You'll have the ease of maintaining your gears in a Sammy t-case over the Kicker 3, which is better in my opionion. Plus you'll have tons more choices of low-rage gears.
Good luck,

Hey, just curious
Does anyone know if the kicker 3 will work with the Auto tranny also or is it just the five speed.
From what I understand it shouldn't matter what Tranny you bolt it to, just as long as it has the same size of out put shaft. IE it won't work with the XL-7 and standard for the Grand Vitara, but every thing else?
Do I understand this right or am I just confused?

You got it right. It's just using the tracker transfercase, so it will bolt to an auto or a manual.

I have mine behind an automatic, works excellent
