Ok guys did all my pricing dham the shits not cheap lol.
Ive done some meassuring as for the coil spacers will fit tight on the bump stop shaft not loose tight. They will be made 1/4" wider so they can accept more force on them and they will not deteriate over time.
Ok this is what it will include
2 Front 1.5" UHMV front coil spacers
2 Rear 2.0" UHMV Rear coil spacers
2 Front 1.5" Alum plate spacers for front struts
2 New rear Shocks monroe senstrac
4 Bump stop extenders
The hardware to mount all the parts and a pictured detailed instruction
Im looking at around $360 canadian and $300 american. maybe shipped let me see on the weights and costs exactly. I may have over shot my prices here
Like this will lift ur truck 1.5" or more im gonna be making it this weekend but im gonna play around with the rear as i would like th rear say 1/4" higher also im gonna take it off road this weekend and put the trailer on it and see how it fairs out.
Now serious people who would be interested ??
CE1 2NR is my second test person we will test this all out and see how it all fairs out
But i would like to know who would be interested to buy it.
-
I'm kind of on the wall, trying to figure out what is the difference between this and other kts that would cost less.
Did you end up getting the strut spacers machined to correct the camber?
What happened to the strut tower brace spacer? Is that not needed afterall?
-
Here is the prob with the camber correction as i left the stock cambner alone and i spaced the strut down 1.5" the camber was only off by negative -.5 so all we did was use a round file on the top bolt hole on the strut moved the hole back 3mm -5 mm this allows the alignment shop to loosen it and move it a bit.
As for the strut tower bar i forgot to mention they will be a extra $20 for them a have them figured out its a 1.5" alum spacer.
-
Like as for right now this is the price im looking at im getting all the materials here on wed so ill make the kit on wed and ill post some pics and it on the truck and ill let 2 fellow zuki world drivers test drive this setup. Now from what im looking at i can probly do the kits for say $330us shipped
-
I've already got my rear axle completed and I'm running it already. I've got the spacers for the front also, but not installed. I do have the alignment cam bolts for alignment. What I would be interested in would be the spacers for the strut upper mount, to include the strut compression support bar.
This would be for my 02 XL7.
-
Ok well im gonna be making them today let me get some pics of them and how much time and money they cost to make cause 1.5" alum is not cheap lol its 6" x6"
-
Well prices are goign to change as the TJ shocks do not fit i have to go to a set of RANCHO RX5000 there twice the price but man they are better :D
-
I'm definately interested in purchasing a set if they turn out to be as good as you're planning. Any idea as to what size tire they'll let you set up to (from stock) without rubbing?
-
Well guys i got one done fits like a glove here is a pic of the rear one. Fits int he grove perfect and the oem damper pad goes over it then re screw in the bumpstop.
As for tires i played a bit tonight with the Rear the 235 75 R15 BFG AT and they are 1/8" out side the body no spring and a 1/4" shim on the bump stopp they are 1/8" from the body.
Now for shocks guys i tried on my truck with the .75" lift the monroe matics and sensatrac not bad just tried a set of Rancho RS 5000 WOW so much better the rear end hugs the road and the back does not hop when u go on dirt roads its stays smoth so the RANCHOS will be my choice.(http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/5/web/653000-653999/653856_69_full.jpg)
-
Hey guys well after tones of cutting i got the back spacers to fit the exact way i want them nice and snug but still some ply for the variences in different trucks.
Here are some pics as for bump stops u can only extended them roughly 1/4" cause they are angled. Unless u want to make new bump stops but with a 1/4" spacer the wheel on full compress and the other side articulating as much as possible the tire 235 75 R15 is 1/4" away from the top panel.
Here are two pics the pic of the two spacers is the RR 1 1/8" spacer which is only for sidekicks not the GV trust me,

This is a pic of it installed and spring compressed

Well the fronts are done here some pics the left RR and the right mine

Here is a pic of the kit minus one other strut spacer

Fuckkkkk guys the ride is sooo much better now then with those no boost RR coil spacers.
Well so far the front seems a bit higher like maybe 1/4" if that but im gonna drive it today and let everything settle inplace.
The front handles alot better its not as bumpy or mushy a drive its like u hit a bump is a smooth bumpiness.
The rear i love the ranchos i hit some big bumps and before the back end would come off the ground now its feels like i did not even hit a bump.
Over all rides good handles the same but a bit higher. If the rear is still to high im gonna make a new set of spacers. i think a 1.5" all around is best for the 2 doors as for the 4 doors id say either 1.5 rear and 1.25 front or 1.5 front and 1.75 rear we will see in this week.
-
Josh, the aluminum spacers looks like they came out quite well. I'm assuming you completed the job without losing any fingers as I didn't get any phone calls containing blood curdling screams. Good Job.
Anyhow, you should post some pics of the final product. That is, what the truck looks like now with the custom kit installed.
How about a short road trip up here to Petawawa tomorrow. It'll give you a better idea on highway driveability and we can compare ride height with my GV side by side. Then we can go see War of the Worlds at the base theatre.
For the rest of you, the spacers Josh got from Rocky Road are complete garbage. The spring compressed right over the edge of the spacer due to the soft rubber and warped it. I'd say the end result was about a 1/2" lift. Waste of cash! The material used for these new spacers is to hard and wide for that to occur. There will be a rubber spacer between the spacer and the spring to act as a cushion, much like the cartilidge found in your spine between the vertebrae.
I applaud Josh's innovative and creative nature. Never ceases to amaze me.
-
Did you end up needing/using camber bolts up front?
Cwkick
-
Looks real good!
I would be interested if it doesn't cost too much to send to Europe... ::)
I have longer springs already, so I wouldn't install the spring spacers till I figure out how to lower the front diff... But interested anyway!
Congratulations on the work! ;D
I'll wend you a pm ;)
-
Im not a camber bolt fan NEVER use MONROE ones they are shit every set i had we torqued them to the spec a month later they snapped. Use ingals there harded steel.
I did not use camber bolts as u grind the holes on the struts by 4mm inwards and take the lip off the spindle and the camber is good and u still have some adjustablity
-
Well guys for the OEM sus the measurments from the top of the rotor to the tip of the fender was 15.75 now its 17.5 thats over 1.5" more travel in the front end
The rear with these shocks i have over 2" more shock travel.
The front resting on the suspenison the shocks being pushed down about 2.25 and the rear 2.5"
-
Here are 2 pics i took in the drive way. I will take a pic beside CE1 2NR truck and ill even drive his truck up on 1" pieces of wood so u can see the true lift

-
Well guys as stated before im gonna be lifting the back more then the front due to the IFS. The rear will now be a 1.75" spacer for the WL7 it will be a 2" spacer.
Went camping loaded it right up it only sank .5" and the ride was awsome handles like before.
-
So what would the price be without the rear shocks? If I asked nicely could I get the collapsed/extended dimensions of the rear shocks? I have a favorite brand I'd prefer to use.
How about without the strut spacer stuff and rear shocks?
Would it be possible to use the rear lift and front lift but with the Old Man Emu longer front struts?
Possibilities... 8)
-
Ok im gonna start a new post with the prices
-
Well guys ive sold two kits. One for a tracker and another for a GV the 4cyl kits will just have a slightly smaller 1 3/8" spacer due to the less weight engine and it will sit even.
-
Congrats. 8) I'm definately interested in at least the coil spacers and bump stop extensions, just gotta get past the tuition pain I'm in right now. :P
What are the advantages/disadvantages of the front strut extensions instead of a longer front strut like OME or BDS?
-
The longer OME struts are a good choice but the 250 plus shipping is alot for them. But i think they are a great strut but for the price of them u can get my whole lift. My truck has over 100,000km and sure the struts do have alot of wear on them but the truck rides smooth on the highway and off road they work great no bounce. Ive ridden in a friends truck with OME and they are very ruff.
-
Does spacing the struts down the 1-1.5" result in a loss of potential up-travel in the suspension?
-
Well in theory yes cause ur spacing the strut down 1.5" but ur raising the truck 1.5" so u wan the shock to be in the center as there are damping zones in the struts if u have the strut fully extended ur gonna be ridding in the harder damping zone. When u lift the truck and space the strut u drop the truck down im 2.25" oin the center total shock lenght is 6.25"
