allright now today is a new day so of course we have a new problem! my steering is making a groaning or rubbing noise it sounds like inside the collumn. can this be lubricated in an easy manner? i dont have a stereo so this will work out to be a major annoyance ;D

Is it a samurai?
-
why yes it is, i am sorry not to have mentioned that :-[ ,but you all have helped me with so many problems during the last 3 weeks or so ::), that i just assumed you would remember me ;D. is this a common sammy problem?
-
yes , both of mine did the same thing, I drilled about an 1/8 inch hole on the steering column just large enough to get one of those red spay attachments to fit into it and hit it with some white grease from a spray can, the hole gets drilled down by your feet, prob. a couple of inches from the bottom where the column goes through the fire wall.

once again i find myself saying thank you for your assistance. cheque`s in the mail ;D ;D ;D

My 91 does this, but it seems to be groaning up higher than that. Anybody know where, exactly, all the bearings are in the column? Ive never had it apart....just curious.

I think there is a bearing up top and a bushing down at the bottom, the sound travels up the steering column.
