Here is what I did to my body mount last 4th of July out on the dunes. I cam off a dune and it was razorbacked on the other side and I hit rollerfair lead first.  The body move far enough forward to bend and break the distributor and to hit the top of the winch bumper.

I took it to trail tough and they fixed er rigth up I will go out tonight and take a couple pics of new mounts. They welded a round plate on top of the mounts coming off of the frame, becasue i ripped a huge hole in the originals.

Thats a bit scary, from the pic of the windscreen it doesn't look like tou hit it that hard. I wonder how much better it would have survived without the bodylift.

Yeah....the windscreen pics is the result of not wearing my setbelt :( It actually didnt hurt though..but i learned my lesson.
I think if I had had just the stock bumper I would have flipped over on the lid.

Oh and the body lift blocks have since been turned to run parrel to the frame and the body mounts on the frame and a circle mtal plate welded to the tomp of them. The body still sits about 1/4 to a 1/2 in forward.

dang those are some scary looking weak body lifts you had there, eigth inch wall two inch square tubing?!? :-[ im glad i was able to avoid using a body lift since i have a samurai, my advice to you guys that need them due to ifs would be to make your own out of quarter inch wall and make em extra long so they dont buckle like that as well as using long through bolts instead of two bolts per mount. be careful, 6feet  :o

Thats the body lift that came with the Calmini 6" lift kit...  It was already installed when I bought the rig.

my condolences ;D but hey no finger pointing here just pointing out for safetys sake, back when i was in high school into lowriders you should have seen some of the scary shit we did, one time we cut the back half of the leaf springs off in the rear of a honda civic wagon 1978 i believe to lower the rear from the axle back, all that was holding it was the little positioning bolt through the allignment hole hehehehehehehe :o

Actually in every pic the square-stock pieces aren't bent or tweaked at all! The damage appears confined to the Tracker's floor and frame horns... The square lift blocks themselves are all fine!

THAT IS WHY BODY LIFTS SUCK ::). Just learn to drive with small tires or get somthing that can be lifted easy, Like a samurai. My budy had the same thing happen to him on his sidkick. He just boxed everthing in with 1/4in plate. Doesn't make me want a dam body lift. And calmini wants you to put the waight in a tracker to make it ride good. i think they need to go thrugh there kits a little better. I hate my samurai's springs: >:(

ok i thanks for the picks. do u have anything after it was repaired. calmini bobylift sucks rocky-roads is actually quite stable. i do have a clamini body lift. and smis r much smaller inside than kicks i guess if u weigh like 200 lbs u would be fine in a sami. i wiegh 330 that is actually why a got my tracker instead of a wrangler because there is more room in a tracker. anyway i am making my own lift ti eliminate all the stablitity problem it will be weld in though. i am using 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 od to buid it out of. i will weld it to the frame and dirll holes in the top tp bolt on the rubber mounts. the pieces will be 4" long running linier with the frame that will cure part of the problem. the second part is welding angle iron on the sides of the floor braces for more suport i will also put a 3/16 piece of steel between the angel to cover the floor brace were the bolt comes down. i was thinking of removing the body lift but i have lifted the gas tank ran my exaust aboove the frame and a few other things. i think it will be easier just to keep the body lift.

Im glad my roll cage goes through the body works as it will stop it from moving like that . ...
