Leafs are just much easier to get set up when going SAS. To be able to run coils, you have to fabricate a 4 link setup..

Looking really good, explosivo! Can't wait to see more!

Not only are leafs much easier to set up, but they are cheaper, too. Heims, poly bushings, or spherical bearings are all hard on the pocketbook, and considering this is a budget buildup (to the extreme :P) coils/links were just too expensive. I'd still prefer coils, and might go to them down the road. :)

About the front: I had a Land Cruiser front axle, but it was coarse-splined and had front drums... the Scout II D44's I'm using have discs in the front. ;D

Thats a complete power steering coversion for a Track/Kick

- Pump
- Resevoir
- Lines
- Brackets

Looks funny when it's off don't it?

Naw, you wouldn't have to do a 4 link. I plan on keeping the geometry in the rear, the 3 link, just extending the links 10", then in the front, using a ford style radius arm set up w/ a trac-bar. Simple!

It's actually a Toyota IFS Pickup/4runner PS setup. I should take pics of the box next to my manual steering box... it's like twice the size. Plus the pitman arm isn't flat like Trackick's, it drops like an inch or two stock :)

If I went coils, I may have used the bottom links in the rear, but the upper link would be completely redesigned... especially since the rear axle is going further back to make room for a Sammy Tcase.

Explosive:

What size do you plan to run in a tire?

If you take into consideration that you mounted the leaf mount under the frame in the back and on top of the axle, it looks like you'll have over 12" lift from stock.....Those bump stops were only 1-2" off the a-arm. So if they were the centerline of the stock axle, just assuming here........

Lookin pretty good. Looks a little tall though dont ya think. Are you streching it to compensate for the height? I like the headlight/grille area.

jagular: It is quite tall... to compensate, the body lift will be coming off. I hope to have 35x12.50's fit nicely.

Mike: Thanks... I kinda stole the grill idea from the Rockstar rig ;) And yeah, the wheelbase is going to be stretched about 20 inches overall.
