Title: 16v header
Post by: ppltrak on August 04, 2005, 12:18:41 PM
I'm looking for a 16v header. I don't really like the Calmini because I don't think the down toobs are long enough to produce enough gain for the $. Petroworks was working on a real header w/ doug thorley, but it still isn't out :(

     Thanks ,

What else have you done to the engine?

The stock tube type exhaust manifold looks pretty good, maybe just go with a good exhaust till a header you like comes out.

What does yours look like now? both of mine have twin tubes coming down off of the cast iron manifold which look good to me.

I have a Calmini one on my 8v trakick and I like it but the one for the 16v is alot shorter. It's cast for about 10" then goes into one 2" tube down until the cat. What I was looking for was one like the 8v with the long down tubes for midrange.

See if you can find some pics of your header and post them.....

The reason I say that is the Canadian ones are a tube type header that look alot like the Calmini one...they appear to be a fairly high flow design and they are not that expensive to buy new. That's why I suggested keeping the stocker and going with a good exhaust.
But if yours is a cast iron one then it's a different game and you might want to find the Canadian tube type one.
