I want to keep my ifs front but don't want to spend the money for an anvil. Is there anyway to beef up the stock housing so it won't break when I'm jumping in 4wd (opps) I've read about doing the toy ifs but then I would have to change the rear to toy, to get the proper gears and lug nuts.Any help would be great. Thanks

In a word,
Nope (Unless you are good at welding aluminum...)
Best thing to do right now is to run down to the salvage yard and try to find one off the same year yours is.
Start saving for an Anvil or buy a Samurai for your jumping urges. They cost about the same ;D

Just read something about a gv steel housing????  Will it bolt right in????

Will my stock kick gears bolt into the gv housing?? Or does it need to be a sammi third??

Gears and housings are interchangeable. ;)

Before buying the Anvil I used the housing and 3rd member of a Grand Vitara 2.5 V6 .Got it from UK.It is the same with the alu stock one.Fits perfect.Just find one.But this will save you only the housing. The long axle shaft (not the one that bolts to the 3 bolt flange) will still be
easy to break. The Anvil saves you that one also in most cases.
