Well, cut therockers off the kick, now what?! mount sliders to the frame and angle them up? Or just weld some metal to where the rockers where for supa heavy dooty rockers/sliders?!? Ideas/pics/suggestion?

I used 2x4 metal box tube. But I also did it before I had to completely cut out the rockers. If the rockers are already gone, I would suggest fabing some plate steel in place of the rockers to keep max clearance but protect the body.

Didn't comeone do a fairly extensive post on replacing rockers with 2X4 steel tube a few weeks ago?
I know it was there cause I read through it and looked at the pics.

I did something like that, but it was a sammy.
Cut out the Rockers and mounted it to the Body. You can go to the frame, but you run the risk of Damaging the body when it flexes.ÂÂ

I am going to get some tubing bent and make a step/Body protection yet, but you get the Idea.ÂÂ

mine were rusted BAD! So I cut them out and put in some 4x3 rec tubing. It is the same depth as the stock rockers so no ground clearance was lost. I may dent them if I hit a big rock but not likely. II was thinking of putting a flat plate on there and welding some sliders to the frame but I didn't have a body lift yet and wanted it tight. I then siliconed over my welded seams and painted to whole thing (rockers) with hippo liner. Came out nice.

I have steel plating under my rockers and a rather large steel plate that covers the front half of my undercarage. It works very well for sliding off of rocks. Basically, if I can get on it, I can always slide off of it ;D I'll take a few pictures when I get home and post them.

I was hoping you'd chime in! I remember you saying something about welding straight to the rockers. I think I'll give it a shot. 8)

I just thought one thing you might wanna "add" if you weld in box to replace the rocker ...
Drill some 1" or so holes that will allow you to fish wiring through. I fished a power run on one side and a pair of subwoofer leads on the other through my stock rockers. When I replace the now bashed stock rockers with box tube, I'll be sure to have access up into the upper body holes (and a pull cord), to make the fishing easier ...
Just a suggestion of something to plan for :)
