I heard a myth there are some out there.... anyone?
-
Not in this country (US). But they are out there.
-
where? is it at least a left handed drive country?
-
Japan
-
They are a widetrack like the Sport and the 2.0 V6 is same engine as the lwb widetrack had in some markets. They're right hand drive for the Japanese market. You can also pick them up in New Zealand now as an import too.
-
I received an email once from some one in France that owned one, so that would be LHD. They never came to the UK.
-
a wide track? whats the difference? and what years where they? I like the 89 to 98 better as it's lighter

I have done some looking into this motor for mine. You can regularly find them on ebay. It was the same engine almost as the 1.8l. THey came out of a sport type chassie so they might require a wider frame mount. Also they all came with awd. THey didn't have a true two speed transfer case.
-
AWD......hmmmmmmm very interesting ;)
not very good for what we are doing
but for ralley racing be nice
too bad they didnt sell in this market

Except that its a V6 not an in line 4. My understanding is that its the Mazda 626 engine, its certainly from the same period that they were fitting Mazda turbo diesel engines. I hadn't heard about the awd, is that just the swb version? I know the LWB is stock Suzuki 4wd, the X-EC models were the ones fitted with LSDs.
-
Yes, the 2.0 V6 was a joint engine development deal with Mazda. I have never come come across anything relating to a AWD version, do you have any links/pics/details about this variant? All the 2.0 V6 models I have seen have a hi/lo t-case.
-
so no 2.5 v6 in the earlier ones?
-
No, the 2.5 was done for the GV.
-
2.5 s were a Japan only model but I've heard of of 2.5s from the latter model being tranplanted in to the 1996 to 98 models. I have the dealer brochure and theirs no mention of AWD anywhere.

-
Charlie, have you got any links to the 2.5 swb? Is that in the newer shape?
-
I havn't seem Somer from Japan post for a while but he did mention that 2.5l was an option in the older vitaras, maybe this was only in the LWB. I can also recall a guy from NZ saying they replacing V6 2.0 l engines with the 2.5 GV engines but can't recall the link although it was some type of chateboard.

ok, anyone hear of any one offs or home made early style kicks with 2.5 v6?

Wheres 95XL7?
-
yeah, he had one. I'm still interested in UNDERPRESSUREs truck, he had a tracker with 406 chevy on 44s
-
I one time found a awd and 2.0 v6 from a escudo for sale on ebay. They called it a jspec tranmisson. I can't seem to find any more info on it. I'll see if i can find the old listing.
-
I don't much about the individual states emissions tests but that motor doesn’t pass all of them which is why it didn’t make it to the US.
