Title: warn premium hubs
Post by: derekj on August 23, 2005, 10:52:29 PM
just wondering if anybody has had problems with the premium warn hubs unlocking while driving. i have a customers vehicle at work and it hasn't done it for me but he says they engage and then 15 seconds later they make a loud clicking noise and the front wheels stop turning. have allready replaced one set and everything in the front of the truck is tight. any help would be great!

Take the hub back off and make sure that the axel is in the center where it belongs(by it's self not forceing it there)and spin the axel to make sure that the birfield is not broken,if the axel is not in the center you might have a bent houseing, the warns have a bronze bushing in them not as good as the stock hub and the bolts holding them in suck, imho the stock hubs are better.

Nope - never seen or heard of anything like that.  I just removed my Warn Premium hubs, and switched to AISIN lockouts from a 2nd generation 4-runner - along with the much beefier 4Runner CV axles.
