Hey,
I just put a 3" body Lift on my kick and the brake light is always on ??? E-Brake on or off.
Could the E-Brake cable have tighend and now the ebrake is alway on alittle bit ???
I have to make the front brake line longer on the drivers side. It is tight and has a kink. (Could that make this happen?)
Thanks Alot

Yeah, you need to get that brake line fixed. That's not real safe to be driving around like that :o
-
When you put the calmini 3" BL Kit in do you have to make your brake line longer??
I'm sure that is the problem, I will fix it after I fixed my hood.
More input is welcome.

Yeah, it sounds like you have a problem,  However I believe that your break lights are strictly controlled by a switch at the pedal and wired strait from there to the tail lights.  So if there staying on I'ld check any electrical that you may have messed with while doing the lift, or it could be one of those freak things that happened to go bad just as you were working on something else.
If that's the case start by checking your brake light switch.

No, it is the brake like on my dash. Sorry about that.
-
That light is for E-brake and low brake fluid,
check the res for fluid level
-
the Dot 3 brake fluid is full ;)
-
That res switch works with a float, if it's not
sunk, and the light is on, you could check
the wires to see if they are pulled/pinched
or if the wire to the E-brake is also pinched
or pulled
-
Ok, I will try that. 8)

That left front line should have been long enough. Did you take it loose from it's mount on the strut tower?
-
NO, Can i just slip it off there and be fine, even if im flexing?
-
Yeah, as long as it stays attached at the inner fender and the strut itself.
-
If I recall correctly, and you followed the directions, you were supposed to move the point where the brake line passes through the fender down an inch or so - this takes care of the short brake line issue.
-
That light is for E-brake and low brake fluid,
check the res for fluid level
and if you have rear ABS the RWAL computer will light it up.
Might wanna check on the top-left side of the rear differential for a wire that goes to the speed sensor. If that has come unplugged, the dash light will come on.

the e-brake cable at the back end attaches to the body and the frame so when you add 3" in there is tightens the e-brake cable. you need to adjust it.
As for the drivers front you need to take the line off and drill a new hole through the fender and reinstall the brakeline in the new hole. no new line required.
-
Ok, I will check the e-brake.
Will I have to bleed the whole system when I move the brake like down???
-
I was just out looking and my E-Brake Cable have a cut about 1/2 way through it. I'm guessing that is what is giving me these troubles??
-
A snapped e-brake cable would only keep the e-brake from working right, it wouldn't affect the dash light unless it was keeping the handle from going the whole way down...
-
Ok, Thanks. I'm sure once I move the brake line down it will turn off . . I hope.
-
Well, I have done:
Drives Braking Line dropped.
Lossened Tightened wires.
Took off e-brake rubber mount to frame.
And it won't turn off.
Do you think then I lifted the body the e-brake cable tightened up and bit and now it is allways on?
I'm thinking of going and looking at electrical. This is really pissing me off as I have been thinking about this for months. It just won't stop.
Upated: The ( ! ) Light is "on" on my dash and it won't stop. (Justsoyoudon'thavetoreaditall)

I don't remember if the trackicks are the same as sami's, but there's a push button switch on the E-brake handle ( 2 wires on a cheesey set up )
Mine fickered all the time when off roading, I just bent the tab it's on so it makes contact sooner and the light problem was solved
Don't know if this applies????
Steve :)

It's the same on trackkick's. TysonS I think your thinking in the wrong direction, that light won't stay on because there is tension on the hand brake cable, that'd only be the case if the handle wouldn't come down completely... I'd search in the electrical way if I were you, especialy around grounds of the switch on the Dot 3 canister.
Good luck!

Ok, Thanks guys, I'm going to go up and look around the Brake Fluid Canister and look for loose wires, etc. ;)
