Hello.
Having a couple of issues with my rear springs sagging badly and I wanted to upgrade change them.
The springs I have are from a 3 inch lift kit but they have compressed a lot and only have about 1cm space between the coils and will meet and completely close on any small articulation.
I have tried spacers but it isnt helping to much i may try a larger spacer tomorrow to see but i think the springs cant take the weight of my truck anymore. I also have a set of stock new springs i may use those with spacers for now to gain some of the lift back.
??? Does anyone have any ideas on the length difference between calmini 3 inch springs and stock springs?
My front springs were also sagging badly and they had rubbed the paint off so while i did my axle convsertion i have swapped those out hence the need for new rear springs :-)
lastly, has anyone found any good alternative rear springs of any other model of car?

About 3" ;)
I remember thinking I needed a 16" spring to replace the rear
stock spring and get 3" of lift, but if you want my oppinion, use
a spacer (3") on the stock rears, 4 door springs are a little higher
rate if you have a 2 door, I have never had a stock spring give
me any trouble

i was thinking 3 inches lol.. ;D :-X
but you know how it is , brackets some times work out a 2 and a bit and so on.
as it happens i have some LWB rear coils I was thinking they might have to go in tomorrow with the spacers as these have bags more go in them than my current ones, i suppose twin winches with bumpers & a roll cage isnt helping , will let you know how she goes cheers for the quick response

You might need harder springs to cope with the extra weight. What kills a spring fast is allowing the coils to touch.

thanks for the information, i have stuck in spacers for now, i think the stock lwb coils i a lot shorter. i will have to have some custom built or see how long the 1.5 inch lifted ones come out at. will have alook at rocky road etc

Here is two pics of the Calmini Springs new:

1 CM between each coil will still give you 5"-6" of up travel before the spring fully compresses. Wich appears to be about half of what mine has with the same springs:

And mine will compress to 1/2" from the arch when fully compressed.
The big difference in this comparison for you is the fact that I have nothing but the cage in the back of mine in this pic (no seat, tools, carpet, nothing at all)

cheers zig. loaded in mine i have tools, cage, rear bumper and winch with wire cable but shortened, .

maybe im just over loading the calmini springs , so time for an upgrade , will check out some other trucks to see what will fit off the heavier trucks that are around

Wow, with that much extra weight I dont know if a 4 door spring would make up for or not. My hybrid, cab truck, jeep friends usually custom order their springs. I will try to get you some info on where you could possibably get some made.

I installed a old man emu kit on a 98 tj,it was there 2"h.d. kit, the coils were alot larger dia. than the stock ones and about four inches longer, the fronts look like you could get them to fit the rear on yours,I keep the old ones if you need me to measure them for you send me a p.m.

I got some tj coils a while back (just stock ones) and the tops fit up prefectly, and just a little fab work would get the bottoms to seat nice. Never did test em out, figured this winter I'd play with them (just in the rear ... front is a different story IMO).

try front coils from the 90,s style jeep chorkee they will give 3 to 4 " of lift . they are cheap too!
works well with the front frame converson.
