Title: Any Sammy owners regularly drive with windshield down?
Post by: keith on October 04, 2005, 06:33:54 AM
I am thinking of getting a Sammy partially because I like that they can be opened up more than a Trackkick (doors, targa bar, windshield), but I am wondering what driving at higher speeds with the windshield down is like.  I'm used to riding a motorcycle without a windshield.  It is like that or is there just too much wind for normal driving?

I don't do it much, but it is fun.  Besides people give you all sorts of strange looks......

I got pulled over once in my FJ40 for riding with the front window folded down.  I got a warning because I happened to be wearing sunglasses and the d**b a** cop couldn't think of anything else to pick on me for.

I have read and heard that it is legal if the vehicle came that way and you have eye protection on.

Yea, I have a brother that is a State Trooper here in Indiana, and I asked him before I drove it that way, and he said as long as it's secure, and I have proper eye protection, I'd be just fine.
Like I said, it was just one of the local cops being an a** cuz the FJ was completely stock and he walked around it 3 times trying to find SOMETHING to write me up on.
