I have seen it done on a Samurai, (RangerRick) but I think the transplant included the transmission with it.

Here is a place that will do it for you, never seen thier work, in fact I think I have heard negative things about it.  But it does prove it can be done.

If you find a way to bolt a 4.3 to a Kick trans......

You better stock stock piling trannies....they will blow!

4.3 will fit BEAUTIFULLY!, ever see a tracker with the engine pulled? theres a ton of room.
350 v8 would be nice but pretty short front to back, so i could see where the 4.3 works out better. stock tranny might work, if you had an adapter, but for how long? you can probably use s10 5speed and transfer case or a 700r4 trans.. and those 4.3's can really fly!,
Easiest bet would be to order up a edlebrock carb and 4.3 intake, headers and a nice lopey cam...

Stupidest move i ever made was NOT buying a 350v8 powered samurai a few years back.. that thing would like the front wheels off the ground a foot when it got 2nd gear!, but it was a little tooo insane i think, and you had to be a gymnast to climb into the drivers seat with all the roll bars.. who really wants to doo all that when your tired int he morning stopping at starbucks for a coffee on the way to work? heh..

well if your going to bolt the 4.3 to the zuk tranny zaggy is right, they will not last with that much power bieng dropped into them,  I would go with say a 4.3, a th350 and get you a good transfer case like the 205. "th350 ande 205 are a married unit" and the th350 is shorter then the 700r4 and a better tranny all around. but i am a manual gear box guy, go get a 4x4 s10 or blazer with a blown motor or that is totaled for 2 - 500 $ and swap it all into the kiktrak  have SAS and LOTS o power.

If I am remembering correctly (which is debateable) the TH350 is a 3-speed unit, and the 700R4 is an overdrive unit which would be nice.  I think there is a 200R4 or something that is smaller and has overdrive....or something like that.

Either way just find a tranny/transfer case from an S-10 to use, the output comes out on the correct side, and you wont' need any expensive adapters to use a Toyota.
