Title: any way to reset check engine light on 97 sidekick

i searched . and came up the info about the switch behind the speaker .but i don't think this apply's to the newer sidekicks . anyway  to reset the computer .on a 1997 sidekick 4dr.  hit the 130000 km mark .  any info would be great    thanks Jake

There ain't no switch on a '97, you need a code scanner to see why you have a CEL. In the states Autozone will tell you for free.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for about ten minutes?  That should clear your computer.  If it comes back on, then you have to hook up a code scanner to find out what is causing the light to come on.  Good luck

 thanks for the info guys i got a code scanner off of ebay .

 error code 135

O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (cylinder bank no. 1, sensor no.1 ) 

does this pretty much mean i need a new o2 sensor???
